And it came to pass in the fortieth<0705> year<08141>, in the eleventh<06249><06240> month<02320>, on the first<0259> day of the month<02320>, that Moses<04872> spake<01696>(8765) unto the children<01121> of Israel<03478>, according unto all that the LORD<03068> had given him in commandment<06680>(8765) unto them;

After<0310> he had slain<05221>(8687) Sihon<05511> the king<04428> of the Amorites<0567>, which dwelt<03427>(8802) in Heshbon<02809>, and Og<05747> the king<04428> of Bashan<01316>, which dwelt<03427>(8802) at Astaroth<06252> in Edrei<0154>:

1:6 「耶和華<03068>─我們的神<0430>在何烈山<09002><02722>曉諭<01696>(8765)我們<0413>說<09001><0559>(8800)：你們<09001>在這<02088>山<09002><02022>上住<03427>(8800)的日子夠了<07227>；
The LORD<03068> our God<0430> spake<01696>(8765) unto us in Horeb<02722>, saying<0559>(8800), Ye have dwelt<03427>(8800) long enough<07227> in this mount<02022>:
1:7 要起行<05265>(8798)轉<06437>(8798){<09001>}到<0935>(8798)亞摩利人<0567>的山地<02022>和<0413>靠近<07934>這山地的各處<03605>，就是亞拉巴<09002><06160>、山地<09002><02022>、高原<09002><08219>、南地<09002><05045>，沿海<03220>一帶<09002><02348>迦南人<03669>的地<0776>，並黎巴嫩山<03844>又到<05704>幼發拉底{<05104>}<06578>大<01419>河<05104>。

1:8 如今{<07200>}{(8798)}我將<0853>這地<0776>擺<05414>(8804)在你們面前<09001><06440>；你們要進去<0935>(8798)得<03423>(8798){<0853>}這地<0776>，就是<0834>耶和華<03068>向你們列祖<09001><01>亞伯拉罕<09001><085>、以撒<09001><03327>、雅各<09001><03290>起誓<07650>(8738)應許賜<09001><05414>(8800)給他們<09001>和他們<0310>後裔<09001><02233>為業之地。」
Behold<07200>(8798), I have set<05414>(8804) the land<0776> before<06440> you: go<0935>(8798) in and possess<03423>(8798) the land<0776> which the LORD<03068> sware<07650>(8738) unto your fathers<01>, Abraham<085>, Isaac<03327>, and Jacob<03290>, to give<05414>(8800) unto them and to their seed<02233> after<0310> them. {set: Heb. given}
1:9 「那<01931>時<09002><06256>，我{<0559>}{(8799)}對你們<0413>說<09001><0559>(8800)：『管理你們<0853>的重任，我獨自<09001><0905>擔當<05375>(8800)不<03808>起<03201>(8799)。
And I spake<0559>(8799) unto you at that time<06256>, saying<0559>(8800), I am not able<03201>(8799) to bear<05375>(8800) you myself alone<0905>:
1:10 耶和華<03068>─你們的神<0430>使你們<0853>多起來<07235>(8689)。看哪<02009>，你們今日<03117>像天上<08064>的星<09003><03556>那樣多<09001><07230>。
The LORD<03068> your God<0430> hath multiplied<07235>(8689) you, and, behold, ye are this day<03117> as the stars<03556> of heaven<08064> for multitude<07230>.
1:11 惟願耶和華<03068>─你們列祖<01>的神<0430>使你們<05921>比如今<09003>更多<03254>(8686)千<0505>倍<06471>，照他所<09003><0834>應許<01696>(8765)你們<09001>的話賜福<01288>(8762)與你們<0853>。
(The LORD<03068> God<0430> of your fathers<01> make you a thousand<0505> times<06471> so many more as<03254>(8686) ye are , and bless<01288>(8762) you, as he hath promised<01696>(8765) you!)
1:12 但你們的麻煩<02960>，和管理你們的重任<04853>，並你們的爭訟<07379>，我獨自一人<09001><0905>怎能<0349>擔當<05375>(8799)得起呢？
How<0349> can I myself alone bear<05375>(8799) your cumbrance<02960>, and your burden<04853>, and your strife<07379>?
1:13 你們要按著各支派<09001><07626>選舉<03051>(8798){<09001>}有智慧<02450>、有見識<0995>(8737)、為眾人所認識<03045>(8803)的{<0582>}，我立他們<07760>(8799)為你們的首領<09002><07218>。』
Take<03051>(8798) you wise<02450> men<0582>, and understanding<0995>(8737), and known<03045>(8803) among your tribes<07626>, and I will make<07760>(8799) them rulers<07218> over you. {Take: Heb. Give}
1:14 你們回答<06030>(8799)我<0853>說<0559>(8799)：『照你所<0834>說<01696>(8765)的{<01697>}行了<09001><06213>(8800)為妙<02896>。』
And ye answered<06030>(8799) me, and said<0559>(8799), The thing<01697> which thou hast spoken<01696>(8765) is good<02896> for us to do<06213>(8800).
1:15 我便{<03947>}{(8799)}將<0853>你們各支派<07626>的首領<07218>，有智慧<02450>、為眾人所認識<03045>(8803)的{<0582>}，照你們的支派<09001><07626>，立<05414>(8799)他們<0853>為官長<07218>、千<0505>夫長<08269>、百<03967>夫長<08269>、五十<02572>夫長<08269>、十<06235>夫長<08269>，管理<07860>(8802)你們<05921>。
So I took<03947>(8799) the chief<07218> of your tribes<07626>, wise<02450> men<0582>, and known<03045>(8803), and made<05414>(8799) them heads<07218> over you, captains<08269> over thousands<0505>, and captains<08269> over hundreds<03967>, and captains<08269> over fifties<02572>, and captains<08269> over tens<06235>, and officers<07860>(8802) among your tribes<07626>. {made: Heb. gave}
1:16 「當<01931>時<09002><06256>，我囑咐<06680>(8762){<0853>}你們的審判官<08199>(8802)說<09001><0559>(8800)：『你們聽<08085>(8800)訟{<0996>}{<0251>}，無論是{<0996>}弟兄<0251>彼此<0996><0376>爭訟，是與<0996>同居的外人<01616>爭訟，都要按公義<06664>判斷<08199>(8804)。
And I charged<06680>(8762) your judges<08199>(8802) at that time<06256>, saying<0559>(8800), Hear<08085>(8800) the causes between your brethren<0251>, and judge<08199>(8804) righteously<06664> between every man<0376> and his brother<0251>, and the stranger<01616> that is with him.
1:17 審判的時候<09002><04941>，不可<03808>看<05234>(8686)人的外貌<06440>；聽<08085>(8799)訟不可分貴<09003><01419>賤<09003><06996>，不可<03808>懼怕<01481>(8799)人<04480><06440><0376>，因為<03588>審判<04941>是<01931>屬乎神的<09001><0430>。若有難斷<07185>(8799)的<0834>案件<01697>{<04480>}，可以呈<07126>(8686)到我這裡<0413>，我就判斷<08085>(8804)。』
Ye shall not respect<05234>(8686) persons<06440> in judgment<04941>; but ye shall hear<08085>(8799) the small<06996> as well as the great<01419>; ye shall not be afraid<01481>(8799) of the face<06440> of man<0376>; for the judgment<04941> is God's<0430>: and the cause<01697> that is too hard<07185>(8799) for you, bring<07126>(8686) it unto me, and I will hear<08085>(8804) it. {respect...: Heb. acknowledge faces}
1:18 那<01931>時<09002><06256>，我將<0853>你們所<0834>當行<06213>(8799)的事<01697>都<03605>吩咐<06680>(8762)你們<0853>了。」
And I commanded<06680>(8762) you at that time<06256> all the things<01697> which ye should do<06213>(8799).
1:19 「我們照著<09003><0834>耶和華<03068>─我們神<0430>所吩咐<06680>(8765)的{<0853>}從何烈山<04480><02722>起行<05265>(8799)，經過<03212>(8799){<0853>}{<03605>}你們所<0834>看見<07200>(8804)那<01931>大<01419>而可怕<03372>(8737)的曠野<04057>，往<01870>亞摩利人<0567>的山地<02022>去<0935>(8799)，到了<05704>加低斯‧巴尼亞<06947>。
And when we departed<05265>(8799) from Horeb<02722>, we went through<03212>(8799) all that great<01419> and terrible<03372>(8737) wilderness<04057>, which ye saw<07200>(8804) by the way<01870> of the mountain<02022> of the Amorites<0567>, as the LORD<03068> our God<0430> commanded<06680>(8765) us; and we came<0935>(8799) to Kadeshbarnea<06947>.
1:20 我對你們<0413>說<0559>(8799)：『你們已經到<0935>(8804)了<05704>耶和華<03068>─我們神<0430>所<0834>賜<05414>(8802)給我們<09001>的亞摩利人<0567>之山地<02022>。
And I said<0559>(8799) unto you, Ye are come<0935>(8804) unto the mountain<02022> of the Amorites<0567>, which the LORD<03068> our God<0430> doth give<05414>(8802) unto us.
1:21 看哪<07200>(8798)，耶和華<03068>─你的神<0430>已將<0853>那地<0776>擺<05414>(8804)在你面前<09001><06440>，你要照<09003><0834>耶和華<03068>─你列祖<01>的神<0430>所說的<01696>(8765){<09001>}上去<05927>(8798)得那地為業<03423>(8798)；不要<0408>懼怕<03372>(8799)，也不要<0408>驚惶<02865>(8735)。』
Behold<07200>(8798), the LORD<03068> thy God<0430> hath set<05414>(8804) the land<0776> before<06440> thee: go up<05927>(8798) and possess<03423>(8798) it , as the LORD<03068> God<0430> of thy fathers<01> hath said<01696>(8765) unto thee; fear<03372>(8799) not, neither be discouraged<02865>(8735).
1:22 你們都<03605>就近我<0413>來<07126>(8799)說<0559>(8799)：『我們要先<09001><06440>打發<07971>(8799)人<0582>去，為我們<09001>窺探<02658>(8799){<0853>}那地<0776>，將我們上去該<0834>走<05927>(8799){<09002>}何<0853>道<01870>，必<0834>進<0935>(8799){<0413>}何<0853>城<05892>，都回<07725>(8686)報<01697>我們<0853>。』
And ye came near<07126>(8799) unto me every one of you, and said<0559>(8799), We will send<07971>(8799) men<0582> before<06440> us, and they shall search us out<02658>(8799) the land<0776>, and bring<07725><00> us word<01697> again<07725>(8686) by what way<01870> we must go up<05927>(8799), and into what cities<05892> we shall come<0935>(8799).
1:23 這話<01697>我<09002><05869>以為美<03190>(8799)，就從你們中間<04480>選了<03947>(8799)十二個<08147><06240>人<0582>，每支派<09001><07626>一<0259>人<0376>。
And the saying<01697> pleased me well<03190>(8799)<05869>: and I took<03947>(8799) twelve<08147><06240> men<0582> of you, one<0259> of a tribe<0376><07626>:
1:24 於是他們起身<06437>(8799)上<05927>(8799)山地<02022>去，到<0935>(8799){<05704>}以實各<0812>谷<05158>，窺探<07270>(8762)那地<0853>。
And they turned<06437>(8799) and went up<05927>(8799) into the mountain<02022>, and came<0935>(8799) unto the valley<05158> of Eshcol<0812>, and searched it out<07270>(8762).
1:25 他們手裡<09002><03027>拿著<03947>(8799)那地<0776>的果子<04480><06529>下來<03381>(8686)，到我們那裡<0413>，回<07725>(8686)報<01697>{<0853>}說<0559>(8799)：『耶和華<03068>─我們的神<0430>所<0834>賜<05414>(8802)給我們的<09001>是美<02896>地<0776>。』
And they took<03947>(8799) of the fruit<06529> of the land<0776> in their hands<03027>, and brought it down<03381>(8686) unto us, and brought<07725><00> us word<01697> again<07725>(8686), and said<0559>(8799), It is a good<02896> land<0776> which the LORD<03068> our God<0430> doth give<05414>(8802) us.
1:26 「你們卻不<03808>肯<014>(8804)上去<09001><05927>(8800)，竟違背了<04784>(8686){<0853>}耶和華<03068>─你們神<0430>的命令<06310>，
Notwithstanding ye would<014>(8804) not go up<05927>(8800), but rebelled<04784>(8686) against the commandment<06310> of the LORD<03068> your God<0430>:
1:27 在帳棚內<09002><0168>發怨言<07279>(8735)說<0559>(8799)：『耶和華<03068>因為恨<09002><08135>我們<0853>，所以將我們從埃及<04714>地<04480><0776>領出來<03318>(8689)，要交<09001><05414>(8800){<0853>}在亞摩利人<0567>手<09002><03027>中，除滅我們<09001><08045>(8687)。
And ye murmured<07279>(8735) in your tents<0168>, and said<0559>(8799), Because the LORD<03068> hated<08135> us, he hath brought us forth<03318>(8689) out of the land<0776> of Egypt<04714>, to deliver<05414>(8800) us into the hand<03027> of the Amorites<0567>, to destroy<08045>(8687) us.
1:28 我們<0587>上<05927>(8802)哪裡去呢<0575>？我們的弟兄<0251>使<0853>我們的心<03824>消化<04549>(8689)，說<09001><0559>(8800)那地的民<05971>比我們<04480>又大<01419>又高<07311>(8802)，城邑<05892>又廣大<01419>又堅固<01219>(8803)，高得頂天<09002><08064>，並且<01571>我們在那裡<08033>看見<07200>(8804)亞衲族<06062>的人<01121>。』
Whither shall we go up<05927>(8802)? our brethren<0251> have discouraged<04549>(8689) our heart<03824>, saying<0559>(8800), The people<05971> is greater<01419> and taller<07311>(8802) than we; the cities<05892> are great<01419> and walled up<01219>(8803) to heaven<08064>; and moreover we have seen<07200>(8804) the sons<01121> of the Anakims<06062> there. {discouraged: Heb. melted}
1:29 我就對你們<0413>說<0559>(8799)：『不要<03808>驚恐<06206>(8799)，也不要<03808>怕<03372>(8799)他們<04480>。
Then I said<0559>(8799) unto you, Dread<06206>(8799) not, neither be afraid<03372>(8799) of them.
1:30 在你們前面<09001><06440>行的<01980>(8802)耶和華<03068>─你們的神<0430>必{<01931>}為你們<09001>爭戰<03898>(8735)，正如<09003><03605>他在埃及<09002><04714>和曠野，在你們眼前<09001><05869>所<0834>行的<06213>(8804){<0854>}一樣。
The LORD<03068> your God<0430> which goeth<01980>(8802) before<06440> you, he shall fight<03898>(8735) for you, according to all that he did<06213>(8804) for you in Egypt<04714> before your eyes<05869>;
1:31 你們在曠野<09002><04057>所<0834>行<01980>(8804)的{<09002>}{<03605>}路<01870>上，{<0834>}也曾見<07200>(8804)耶和華<03068>─你們的神<0430>{<0834>}撫養你們<05375>(8804)，如同<09003><0834>人<0376>撫養<05375>(8799){<0853>}兒子<01121>一般，直等<05704>你們來<0935>(8800)到<05704>這<02088>地方<04725>。』
And in the wilderness<04057>, where thou hast seen<07200>(8804) how that the LORD<03068> thy God<0430> bare<05375>(8804) thee, as a man<0376> doth bear<05375>(8799) his son<01121>, in all the way<01870> that ye went<01980>(8804), until ye came<0935>(8800) into this place<04725>.
1:32 你們在這<02088>事上<09002><01697>卻不<0369>信<0539>(8688)耶和華<09002><03068>─你們的神<0430>。
Yet in this thing<01697> ye did not believe<0539>(8688) the LORD<03068> your God<0430>,
1:33 他在路上<09002><01870>，在你們前面<09001><06440>行<01980>(8802)，為你們<09001>找<09001><08446>(8800)安營<09001><02583>(8800)的地方<04725>；夜間<03915>在火柱裡<09002><0784>，日間<03119>在雲柱裡<09002><06051>，指示你們<09001><07200>(8687)所<0834>當行<03212>(8799){<09002>}的路<09002><01870>。」
Who went<01980>(8802) in the way<01870> before<06440> you, to search you out<08446>(8800) a place<04725> to pitch your tents<02583>(8800) in , in fire<0784> by night<03915>, to shew<07200>(8687) you by what way<01870> ye should go<03212>(8799), and in a cloud<06051> by day<03119>.
1:34 「耶和華<03068>聽見<08085>(8799){<0853>}你們<01697>這話<06963>，就發怒<07107>(8799)，起誓<07650>(8735)說<09001><0559>(8800)：
And the LORD<03068> heard<08085>(8799) the voice<06963> of your words<01697>, and was wroth<07107>(8799), and sware<07650>(8735), saying<0559>(8800),
1:35 『這<02088>惡<07451>世代<01755>的{<0428>}人<09002><0582>，連一個<0376>也不<0518>得見<07200>(8799){<0853>}我起誓應許<07650>(8738)賜<09001><05414>(8800)給你們列祖<09001><01>的{<0834>}美<02896>地<0776>；
Surely there shall not one<0376> of these men<0582> of this evil<07451> generation<01755> see<07200>(8799) that good<02896> land<0776>, which I sware<07650>(8738) to give<05414>(8800) unto your fathers<01>,
1:36 惟有<02108>耶孚尼<03312>的兒子<01121>迦勒<03612>必{<01931>}得看見<07200>(8799)，並且我要將他所<0834>踏過<01869>(8804){<09002>}的{<0853>}地<0776>賜<05414>(8799)給他<09001>和他的子孫<09001><01121>，因為<03282><0834>他專心<04390>(8765)跟從<0310>我<03068>。』
Save<02108> Caleb<03612> the son<01121> of Jephunneh<03312>; he shall see<07200>(8799) it, and to him will I give<05414>(8799) the land<0776> that<0834> he hath trodden upon<01869>(8804), and to his children<01121>, because he hath wholly<04390>(8765) followed<0310> the LORD<03068>. {wholly...: Heb. fulfilled to go after}
1:37 耶和華<03068>為你們的緣故<09002><01558>也<01571>向我<09002>發怒<0599>(8694)，說<09001><0559>(8800)：『你<0859>必<01571>不得<03808>進入<0935>(8799)那地<08033>。
Also the LORD<03068> was angry<0599>(8694) with me for your sakes<01558>, saying<0559>(8800), Thou also shalt not go<0935>(8799) in thither<08033>.
1:38 伺候<05975>(8802)你<09001><06440>、嫩<05126>的兒子<01121>約書亞<03091>，他<01931>必得進入<0935>(8799)那地<08033>；你要勉勵<02388>(8761)他<0853>，因為<03588>他<01931>要使<0853>以色列人<03478>承受那地為業<05157>(8686)。
But Joshua<03091> the son<01121> of Nun<05126>, which standeth<05975>(8802) before<06440> thee, he shall go in<0935>(8799) thither: encourage<02388>(8761) him: for he shall cause Israel<03478> to inherit<05157>(8686) it.
1:39 並且你們的婦人孩子<02945>，就是<0834>你們所說<0559>(8804)、必<01961>(8799)被擄掠的<09001><0957>，{<0834>}和今日<03117>不<03808>知<03045>(8804)善<02896>惡<07451>的兒女<01121>，必<01992>進入<0935>(8799)那地<08033>。我要將那地賜<05414>(8799)給他們<09001>，他們<01992>必得為業<03423>(8799)。
Moreover your little ones<02945>, which ye said<0559>(8804) should be a prey<0957>, and your children<01121>, which in that day<03117> had no knowledge<03045>(8804) between good<02896> and evil<07451>, they shall go in<0935>(8799) thither, and unto them will I give<05414>(8799) it, and they shall possess<03423>(8799) it.
1:40 至於你們<0859>，要轉回<06437>(8798){<09001>}，從紅<05488>海<03220>的路<01870>往曠野<04057>去<05265>(8798)。』
But as for you, turn<06437>(8798) you, and take your journey<05265>(8798) into the wilderness<04057> by the way<01870> of the Red<05488> sea<03220>.
1:41 「那時，你們回答<06030>(8799)我<0413>說<0559>(8799)：『我們得罪了<02398>(8804)耶和華<09001><03068>，{<0587>}情願照耶和華<03068>─我們神<0430>一切<09003><03605>所<0834>吩咐的<06680>(8765)上去<05927>(8799)爭戰<03898>(8738)。』於是你們各人<0376>帶著<02296>(8799){<0853>}兵<04421>器<03627>，爭先<01951>(8686)上<09001><05927>(8800)山地<02022>去了。
Then ye answered<06030>(8799) and said<0559>(8799) unto me, We have sinned<02398>(8804) against the LORD<03068>, we will go up<05927>(8799) and fight<03898>(8738), according to all that the LORD<03068> our God<0430> commanded<06680>(8765) us. And when ye had girded<02296>(8799) on every man<0376> his weapons<03627> of war<04421>, ye were ready<01951>(8686) to go up<05927>(8800) into the hill<02022>.
1:42 耶和華<03068>吩咐我<0413>說<0559>(8799)：『你對他們<09001>說<0559>(8798)：不要<03808>上去<05927>(8799)，也不要<03808>爭戰<03898>(8735)；因<03588>我不<0369>在你們中間<09002><07130>，恐怕<03808>你們被{<09001>}{<06440>}仇敵<0341>(8802)殺敗了<05062>(8735)。』
And the LORD<03068> said<0559>(8799) unto me, Say<0559>(8798) unto them, Go not up<05927>(8799), neither fight<03898>(8735); for I am not among<07130> you; lest ye be smitten<05062>(8735) before<06440> your enemies<0341>(8802).
