16:1 亞伯蘭<087>的妻子<0802>撒萊<08297>不<03808>給他<09001>生兒女<03205>(8804)。撒萊有一個使女<08198>，名<08034>叫夏甲<01904>，是埃及人<04713>。
Now Sarai<08297> Abram's<087> wife<0802> bare<03205><00> him no<03808> children<03205>(8804): and she had an handmaid<08198>, an Egyptian<04713>, whose name<08034> was Hagar<01904>.
16:2 撒萊<08297>對<0413>亞伯蘭<087>說<0559>(8799)：「{<02009>}{<04994>}耶和華<03068>使我不能<06113>(8804)生育<04480><03205>(8800)。求<04994>你和<0413>我的使女<08198>同房<0935>(8798)，或者<0194>我可以因她<04480>得孩子<01129>(8735)（得孩子：原文是被建立）」。亞伯蘭<087>聽從<08085>(8799)了撒萊<08297>的話<09001><06963>。
And Sarai<08297> said<0559>(8799) unto Abram<087>, Behold now, the LORD<03068> hath restrained me<06113>(8804) from bearing<03205>(8800): I pray thee, go in<0935>(8798) unto my maid<08198>; it may<0194> be that I may obtain children<01129>(8735) by her. And Abram<087> hearkened<08085>(8799) to the voice<06963> of Sarai<08297>. {obtain...: Heb. be built by her}
16:3 於是亞伯蘭<087>的妻子<0802>撒萊<08297>將<03947>(8799){<0853>}使女<08198>埃及人<04713>{<0853>}夏甲<01904>給<05414>(8799)了丈夫<09001><0376>為妾<09001><0802>；那時亞伯蘭<087>在<09002><0776>迦南<03667>已經<04480><07093>住了<09001><03427>(8800)十<06235>年<08141>。
And Sarai<08297> Abram's<087> wife<0802> took<03947>(8799) Hagar<01904> her maid<08198> the Egyptian<04713>, after<07093> Abram<087> had dwelt<03427>(8800) ten<06235> years<08141> in the land<0776> of Canaan<03667>, and gave<05414>(8799) her to her husband<0376> Abram<087> to be his wife<0802>.
16:4 亞伯蘭與<0413>夏甲<01904>同房<0935>(8799)，夏甲就懷了孕<02029>(8799)；她見<07200>(8799){<03588>}自己有孕<02029>(8804)，就小看<07043>(8799){<09002>}{<05869>}她的主母<01404>。
And he went in<0935>(8799) unto Hagar<01904>, and she conceived<02029>(8799): and when she saw<07200>(8799) that she had conceived<02029>(8804), her mistress<01404> was despised<07043>(8799) in her eyes<05869>.
16:5 撒萊<08297>對<0413>亞伯蘭<087>說<0559>(8799)：「我因你<05921>受屈<02555>。我將我的使女<08198>放<05414>(8804)在你懷<09002><02436>中，她見<07200>(8799){<03588>}自己有了孕<02029>(8804)，就小看<07043>(8799){<09002>}{<05869>}我。願耶和華<03068>在你我中間<0996>判斷<08199>(8799)。」
And Sarai<08297> said<0559>(8799) unto Abram<087>, My wrong<02555> be upon thee: I have given<05414>(8804) my maid<08198> into thy bosom<02436>; and when she saw<07200>(8799) that she had conceived<02029>(8804), I was despised<07043>(8799) in her eyes<05869>: the LORD<03068> judge<08199>(8799) between me and thee.
16:6 亞伯蘭<087>對<0413>撒萊<08297>說<0559>(8799)：「{<02009>}使女<08198>在你手<09002><03027>下，你可以隨意<02896><09002><05869>待<06213>(8798)她<09001>。」撒萊<08297>苦待<06031>(8762)她，她就從撒萊面<04480><06440>前逃走<01272>(8799)了。
But Abram<087> said<0559>(8799) unto Sarai<08297>, Behold, thy maid<08198> is in thy hand<03027>; do<06213>(8798) to her as it pleaseth thee<02896><05869>. And when Sarai<08297> dealt hardly with<06031>(8762) her, she fled<01272>(8799) from her face<06440>. {as...: Heb. that which is good in thine eyes} {dealt...: Heb. afflicted her}
16:7 耶和華<03068>的使者<04397>在曠野<09002><04057>{<05869>}書珥<07793>路<09002><01870>上<05921>的水<04325>泉<05869>旁遇見<04672>(8799)她，
And the angel<04397> of the LORD<03068> found her<04672>(8799) by a fountain<05869> of water<04325> in the wilderness<04057>, by the fountain<05869> in the way<01870> to Shur<07793>.
16:8 對她說<0559>(8799)：「撒萊<08297>的使女<08198>夏甲<01904>，你從哪裡<0335><04480><02088>來<0935>(8804)？要往哪裡<0575>去<03212>(8799)？」夏甲說<0559>(8799)：「我<0595>從我的主母<01404>撒萊<08297>面前<04480><06440>逃<01272>(8802)出來。」
And he said<0559>(8799), Hagar<01904>, Sarai's<08297> maid<08198>, whence<0335> camest thou<0935>(8804)? and whither wilt thou go<03212>(8799)? And she said<0559>(8799), I flee<01272>(8802) from the face<06440> of my mistress<01404> Sarai<08297>.
16:9 耶和華<03068>的使者<04397>對她<09001>說<0559>(8799)：「你回<07725>(8798)到<0413>你主母<01404>那裡，服<06031>(8690)在她手<03027>下<08478>」；
And the angel<04397> of the LORD<03068> said<0559>(8799) unto her, Return<07725>(8798) to thy mistress<01404>, and submit<06031>(8690) thyself under her hands<03027>.
16:10 {<04397>}{<03068>}又說<0559>(8799){<09001>}：「我必使<0853>你的後裔<02233>極其<07235>(8687)繁多<07235>(8686)，甚至不可<03808>勝<04480><07230>數<05608>(8735)」；
And the angel<04397> of the LORD<03068> said<0559>(8799) unto her, I will multiply<07235>(8686) thy seed<02233> exceedingly<07235>(8687), that it shall not be numbered<05608>(8735) for multitude<07230>.
16:11 {<04397>}{<03068>}並說<0559>(8799){<09001>}：「{<02009>}你如今懷孕<02030>要生<03205>(8802)一個兒子<01121>，可以給他起名<08034>叫<07121>(8804)以實瑪利<03458>（就是神聽見的意思），因為<03588>耶和華<03068>聽見<08085>(8804)了{<0413>}你的苦情<06040>。
And the angel<04397> of the LORD<03068> said<0559>(8799) unto her, Behold<02009>, thou art with child<02030>, and shalt bear<03205>(8802) a son<01121>, and shalt call<07121>(8804) his name<08034> Ishmael<03458>; because the LORD<03068> hath heard<08085>(8804) thy affliction<06040>. {Ishmael: that is, God shall hear}
16:12 他<01931>為<01961>人<0120>必像野驢<06501>。他的手<03027>要攻打人<09002><03605>，人<03605>的手<03027>也要攻打他<09002>；他必住<07931>(8799)在<05921>眾<03605>弟兄<0251>的東邊<06440>。」
And he will be a wild<06501> man<0120>; his hand<03027> will be against every man, and every man's hand<03027> against him; and he shall dwell<07931>(8799) in the presence<06440> of all his brethren<0251>.
16:13 夏甲就稱<07121>(8799){<08034>}那對她<0413>說話<01696>(8802)的耶和華<03068>為「{<0859>}看顧<07210>人的上帝<0410>」。因而<03588>說<0559>(8804)：「在這裡<01988>我也<01571>看見<07200>(8804)那看顧<07210>我<0310>的嗎？」
And she called<07121>(8799) the name<08034> of the LORD<03068> that spake<01696>(8802) unto her, Thou God<0410> seest me<07210>: for she said<0559>(8804), Have I also here<01988> looked<07200>(8804) after him<0310> that seeth me<07210>?
16:14 所以<05921><03651>這井<09001><0875>名叫<07121>(8804)庇耳‧拉海‧萊<0883>。{<02009>}這井正在加低斯<06946>和{<0996>}巴列<01260>中間<0996>。
Wherefore the well<0875> was called<07121>(8804) Beerlahairoi<0883><02416>; behold, it is between Kadesh<06946> and Bered<01260>. {Beerlahairoi: that is, The well of him that liveth and seeth me}
16:15 後來夏甲<01904>給亞伯蘭<09001><087>生了<03205>(8799)一個兒子<01121>；亞伯蘭<087>給他<01121>起名<08034>叫<07121>(8799)以實瑪利<03458>{<0834>}{<01904>}{<03205>}{(8804)}。
And Hagar<01904> bare<03205>(8799) Abram<087> a son<01121>: and Abram<087> called<07121>(8799) his son's<01121> name<08034>, which Hagar<01904> bare<03205>(8804), Ishmael<03458>.
16:16 夏甲<01904>給亞伯蘭<09001><087>生<09002><03205>(8800){<0853>}以實瑪利<03458>的時候，亞伯蘭<087>年<08141>八十<08084><08141>六<08337>歲<01121>。
And Abram<087> was fourscore<08084><08141> and six<08337> years<08141> old<01121>, when Hagar<01904> bare<03205>(8800) Ishmael<03458> to Abram<087>.
