4 {<1161>}聖靈<4151>明<4490>說<3004>(5719)，{<3754>}在<1722>後來的<5306>時候<2540>，必有人<5100>離棄<868>(5698)真道<4102>，聽從<4337>(5723)那引誘人的<4108>邪靈<4151>和<2532>鬼魔<1140>的道理<1319>。
Now<1161> the Spirit<4151> speaketh<3004>(5719) expressly<4490>, that<3754> in<1722> the latter<5306> times<2540> some<5100> shall depart from<868>(5695) the faith<4102>, giving heed<4337>(5723) to seducing<4108> spirits<4151>, and<2532> doctrines<1319> of devils<1140>;
2 這是因為<1722>說謊<5573>之人的假冒<5272>；這等人<2398>的良心<4893>如同被熱鐵烙<2743>(5772)慣了一般。
Speaking lies<5573> in<1722> hypocrisy<5272>; having<2743><0> their<2398> conscience<4893> seared with a hot iron<2743>(5772);
3 他們禁止<2967>(5723)嫁娶<1060>(5721)，又禁戒<568>(5733)食物（或譯：又叫人戒葷<1033>），就是<3739>　神<2316>所造<2936>(5656)、叫<1519>那信<4103>而<2532>明白<1921>(5761)真道<225>的人感謝<2169>著<3326>領受<3336>的。
Forbidding<2967>(5723) to marry<1060>(5721), and commanding to abstain from<567>(5733) meats<1033>, which<3739> God<2316> hath created<2936>(5656) to<1519> be received<3336> with<3326> thanksgiving<2169> of them which believe<4103> and<2532> know<1921>(5761) the truth<225>.
4 {<3754>}凡<3956>　神<2316>所造的物<2938>都是好的<2570>，若感謝<2169>著<3326>領受<2983>(5746)，就<2532>沒有一樣<3762>可棄的<579>，
For<3754> every<3956> creature<2938> of God<2316> is good<2570>, and<2532> nothing<3762> to be refused<579>, if it be received<2983>(5746) with<3326> thanksgiving<2169>:
5 {<1063>}都因<1223>　神的<2316>道<3056>和<2532>人的祈求<1783>成為聖潔了<37>(5743)。
For<1063> it is sanctified<37>(5743) by<1223> the word<3056> of God<2316> and<2532> prayer<1783>.
6 你若將這些事<3778>提醒<5294>(5734)弟兄們<80>，便是<1510>(5695)基督<5547>耶穌<2424>的好<2570>執事<1249>，在真道<4102>的話語<3056>和<2532>你向來所服從<3877>(5758)的{<3739>}善<2570>道<1319>上得了教育<1789>(5746)。
If thou put<5294><0> the brethren<80> in remembrance<5294>(5734) of these things<5023>, thou shalt be<2071>(5704) a good<2570> minister<1249> of Jesus<2424> Christ<5547>, nourished up<1789>(5746) in the words<3056> of faith<4102> and<2532> of good<2570> doctrine<1319>, whereunto<3739> thou hast attained<3877>(5758).
7 只是<1161>要棄絕<3868>(5737)那世俗的<952>言語和<2532>老婦<1126>荒渺的話<3454>，{<1161>}在敬虔<2150>上<4314>操練<1128>(5720)自己<4572>。
But<1161> refuse<3868>(5737) profane<952> and<2532> old wives<1126>' fables<3454>, and<1161> exercise<1128>(5720) thyself<4572> rather unto<4314> godliness<2150>.
8 {<1063>}「操練<1129>身體<4984>，益處<1510>(5719)<5624>還少<4314><3641>；惟獨<1161>敬虔<2150>，{<4314>}凡事<3956>都有<1510>(5719)益處<5624>，因有<2192>(5723)今<3568>生<2222>和<2532>來生<3195>(5723)的應許<1860>。」
For<1063> bodily<4984> exercise<1129> profiteth<2076>(5748)(5624) little<4314><3641>: but<1161> godliness<2150> is<2076>(5748) profitable(5624) unto<4314> all things<3956>, having<2192>(5723) promise<1860> of the life<2222> that now is<3568>, and<2532> of that which is to come<3195>(5723). {little: or, for a little time}
9 這話<3056>是可信的<4103>，{<2532>}是十分<514>{<3956>}可佩服的<594>。
This is a faithful<4103> saying<3056> and<2532> worthy<514> of all<3956> acceptation<594>.
10 {<1063>}我們勞苦<2872>(5719){<2532>}努力<75>(5736)，正是為<1519>此<3778>，因<3754>我們的指望<1679>(5758)在乎<1909>永生的<2198>(5723)　神<2316>；他<3739>是<1510>(5719)萬<3956>人<444>的救主<4990>，更是<3122>信徒<4103>的救主。
For<1063> therefore<1519><5124> we<2872><0> both<2532> labour<2872>(5719) and<2532> suffer reproach<3679>(5743), because<3754> we trust<1679>(5758) in<1909> the living<2198>(5723) God<2316>, who<3739> is<2076>(5748) the Saviour<4990> of all<3956> men<444>, specially<3122> of those that believe<4103>.
11 這些事<3778>，你要吩咐<3853>(5720)人，也要<2532>教導<1321>(5720)人。
These things<5023> command<3853>(5720) and<2532> teach<1321>(5720).
12 不可叫人<3367>小看<2706>(5720)你<4771>年輕<3503>，總要<235>在<1722>言語<3056>、{<1722>}行為<391>、{<1722>}愛心<26>、{<1722>}信心<4102>、{<1722>}清潔<47>上，都作<1096>(5737)信徒<4103>的榜樣<5179>。
Let<2706><0> no man<3367> despise<2706>(5720) thy<4675> youth<3503>; but<235> be thou<1096>(5737) an example<5179> of the believers<4103>, in<1722> word<3056>, in<1722> conversation<391>, in<1722> charity<26>, in<1722> spirit<4151>, in<1722> faith<4102>, in<1722> purity<47>.
13 你要以宣讀<320>、勸勉<3874>、教導<1319>為念<4337>(5720)，直等到<2193>我來<2064>(5736)。
Till<2193> I come<2064>(5736), give attendance<4337>(5720) to reading<320>, to exhortation<3874>, to doctrine<1319>.
14 你<4771>不要<3361>輕忽<272>(5720)所得的<1722>恩賜<5486>，就是<3739>從前藉著<1223>預言<4394>、在眾長老<4244>按<1936>手<5495>的時候<3326>賜給<1325>(5681)你<4771>的。
Neglect<272>(5720) not<3361> the gift<5486> that is in<1722> thee<4671>, which<3739> was given<1325>(5681) thee<4671> by<1223> prophecy<4394>, with<3326> the laying on<1936> of the hands<5495> of the presbytery<4244>.
15 這些事<3778>你要殷勤去做<3191>(5720)，並要在<1722>此<3778>專心<1510>(5720)，使<2443>眾人<3956>{<1510>}{(5725)}看出<5318>你的<4771>長進<4297>來。
Meditate upon<3191>(5720) these things<5023>; give thyself<2468>(5749) wholly to<1722> them<5125>; that<2443> thy<4675> profiting<4297> may<5600>(5753) appear<5318> to<1722> all<3956>. {to all: or, in all things}
16 你要謹慎<1907>(5720)自己<4572>和<2532>自己的教訓<1319>，要在這些事上<846>恆心<1961>(5720)；因為<1063>這樣<3778>行<4160>(5723)，又能<2532>救<4982>(5692)自己<4572>，又能<2532>救聽<191>(5723)你<4771>的人。
Take heed<1907>(5720) unto thyself<4572>, and<2532> unto the doctrine<1319>; continue<1961>(5720) in them<846>: for<1063> in doing<4160>(5723) this<5124> thou shalt<4982><0> both<2532> save<4982>(5692) thyself<4572>, and<2532> them that hear<191>(5723) thee<4675>.
