1 耶和華<03068>的話<01697>臨<01961>到<0413>亞米太<0573>的兒子<01121>約拿<03124>，說<09001><0559>(8800)：
Now the word<01697> of the LORD<03068> came unto Jonah<03124> the son<01121> of Amittai<0573>, saying<0559>(8800), {Jonah: Gr. Jonas}
2 「你起來<06965>(8798)往<0413>尼尼微<05210>大<01419>城<05892>去<03212>(8798)，向<05921>其中的居民呼喊<07121>(8798)，因為<03588>他們的惡<07451>達到<05927>(8804)我面前<09001><06440>。」
Arise<06965>(8798), go<03212>(8798) to Nineveh<05210>, that great<01419> city<05892>, and cry<07121>(8798) against it; for their wickedness<07451> is come up<05927>(8804) before<06440> me.
3 約拿<03124>卻起來<06965>(8799)，逃<09001><01272>(8800)往他施<08659>去躲避<04480><09001><06440>耶和華<03068>；下到<03381>(8799)約帕<03305>，遇見<04672>(8799)一隻船<0591>，要往<0935>(8802)他施去<08659>。他就給了<05414>(8799)船價<07939>，上了<03381>(8799)船<09002>，要與船上的人同<05973>往<09001><0935>(8800)他施去<08659>躲避<04480><09001><06440>耶和華<03068>。
But Jonah<03124> rose up<06965>(8799) to flee<01272>(8800) unto Tarshish<08659> from the presence<06440> of the LORD<03068>, and went down<03381>(8799) to Joppa<03305>; and he found<04672>(8799) a ship<0591> going<0935>(8802) to Tarshish<08659>: so he paid<05414>(8799) the fare<07939> thereof, and went down<03381>(8799) into it, to go<0935>(8800) with them unto Tarshish<08659> from the presence<06440> of the LORD<03068>.
4 然而耶和華<03068>使<02904>(8689){<0413>}海中<09002><03220>起大<01419>風<07307>，海<03220>就狂風<05591>大<01419>作<01961>，甚至船<0591>幾乎<02803>(8765)破壞<09001><07665>(8736)。
But the LORD<03068> sent out<02904>(8689) a great<01419> wind<07307> into the sea<03220>, and there was a mighty<01419> tempest<05591> in the sea<03220>, so that the ship<0591> was like<02803>(8765) to be broken<07665>(8736). {sent out: Heb. cast forth} {was like...: Heb. thought to be broken}
5 水手<04419>便懼怕<03372>(8799)，各人<0376>哀求<02199>(8799){<0413>}自己的神<0430>。他們將<0853>船上<09002><0591>的{<0834>}貨物<03627>拋<02904>(8686)在<0413>海<03220>中，為要<04480><05921>使船輕<09001><07043>(8687)些。約拿<03124>已下<03381>(8804)到<00413>底<03411>艙<05600>，躺臥<07901>(8799)沉睡<07290>(8735)。
Then the mariners<04419> were afraid<03372>(8799), and cried<02199>(8799) every man<0376> unto his god<0430>, and cast forth<02904>(8686) the wares<03627> that were in the ship<0591> into the sea<03220>, to lighten<07043>(8687) it of them. But Jonah<03124> was gone down<03381>(8804) into the sides<03411> of the ship<05600>; and he lay<07901>(8799), and was fast asleep<07290>(8735).
6 船<02259>主<07227>到<07126>(8799)他那裡<0413>對他<09001>說<0559>(8799)：「你<09001>這沉睡的人哪<07290>(8737)，為何<04100>這樣呢？起來<06965>(8798)，求告<07121>(8798){<0413>}你的神<0430>，或者<0194>神<0430>顧念<06245>(8691)我們<09001>，使我們不致<03808>滅亡<06>(8799)。」
So the shipmaster<07227><02259> came<07126>(8799) to him, and said<0559>(8799) unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper<07290>(8737)? arise<06965>(8798), call<07121>(8798) upon thy God<0430>, if so be that God<0430> will think<06245>(8691) upon us, that we perish<06>(8799) not.
7 船上的人彼此<0376><0413><07453>說<0559>(8799)：「來吧<03212>(8798)，我們掣<05307>(8686)籤<01486>，看看<03045>(8799)這<02063>災<07451>臨到我們<09001>是因誰的緣故<09002><07945><09001><04310>。」於是他們掣<05307>(8686)籤<01486>，{<01486>}掣出<05307>(8799)<05921>約拿<03124>來。
And they said<0559>(8799) every one<0376> to his fellow<07453>, Come<03212>(8798), and let us cast<05307>(8686) lots<01486>, that we may know<03045>(8799) for whose cause<07945> this evil<07451> is upon us. So they cast<05307>(8686) lots<01486>, and the lot<01486> fell<05307>(8799) upon Jonah<03124>.
8 眾人對他<0413>說<0559>(8799)：「請<04994>你告訴<05046>(8685)我們<09001>，這<02063>災<07451>臨到我們<09001>是因誰<09001><04310>的緣故<09002><0834>？你以何事<04100>為業<04399>？你從哪裡<04480><0370>來<0935>(8799)？你是<0859>哪<04100>一國<0776>？{<0335>}屬哪<04480><02088>一族<05971>的人？」
Then said<0559>(8799) they unto him, Tell<05046>(8685) us, we pray thee, for whose cause this evil<07451> is upon us; What is thine occupation<04399>? and whence<0370> comest<0935>(8799) thou? what is thy country<0776>? and of what people<05971> art thou?
9 他說<0559>(8799){<0413>}：「我是<0595>希伯來人<05680>。我<0589>敬畏<03373>{<0853>}耶和華<03068>─那<0834>創造<06213>(8804){<0853>}滄海<03220>{<0853>}旱地<03004>之天上<08064>的　神<0430>。」
And he said<0559>(8799) unto them, I am an Hebrew<05680>; and I fear<03373> the LORD<03068>, the God<0430> of heaven<08064>, which hath made<06213>(8804) the sea<03220> and the dry<03004> land . {the LORD: or, JEHOVAH}
10 他們<0582>就大大<01419>懼怕<03372>(8799)<03374>，對他<0413>說<0559>(8799)：「你做<06213>(8804)的是甚麼<04100>事<02063>呢？」{<03588>}他們<0582>已經知道<03045>(8804){<03588>}他<01931>躲避<01272>(8802){<04480>}{<09001>}{<06440>}耶和華<03068>，因為<03588>他告訴了<05046>(8689)他們<09001>。
Then were the men<0582> exceedingly<01419><03374> afraid<03372>(8799), and said<0559>(8799) unto him, Why hast thou done<06213>(8804) this? For the men<0582> knew<03045>(8804) that he fled<01272>(8802) from the presence<06440> of the LORD<03068>, because he had told<05046>(8689) them. {exceedingly...: Heb. with great fear}
11 他們問他<0413>說<0559>(8799)：「我們當向你<09001>怎樣<04100>行<06213>(8799)，使海浪<03220>平靜<08367>(8799)呢{<04480>}{<05921>}？」這話是因<03588>海浪<03220>越發<01980>(8802)翻騰<05590>(8802)。
Then said<0559>(8799) they unto him, What shall we do<06213>(8799) unto thee, that the sea<03220> may be calm<08367>(8799) unto us? for the sea<03220> wrought<01980>(8802), and was tempestuous<05590>(8802). {may...: Heb. may be silent from us} {wrought...: or, grew more and more tempestuous: Heb. went}
12 他對他們<0413>說<0559>(8799)：「你們將我抬起來<05375>(8798)，拋<02904>(8685)在<0413>海<03220>中，海<03220>就平靜了<08367>(8799){<04480>}{<05921>}；{<03588>}我<0589>知道<03045>(8802){<03588>}你們遭<05921>這<02088>大<01419>風<05591>是因我的緣故<09002><07945><09001>。」
And he said<0559>(8799) unto them, Take me up<05375>(8798), and cast me forth<02904>(8685) into the sea<03220>; so shall the sea<03220> be calm<08367>(8799) unto you: for I know<03045>(8802) that for my sake<07945> this great<01419> tempest<05591> is upon you.
13 然而那些人<0582>竭力盪槳<02864>(8799)，要把船攏<09001><07725>(8687){<0413>}岸<03004>，卻是不<03808>能<03201>(8804)，因為<03588>海浪<03220>越發<01980>(8802)向他們<05921>翻騰<05590>(8802)。
Nevertheless the men<0582> rowed hard<02864>(8799) to bring<07725>(8687) it to the land<03004>; but they could<03201>(8804) not: for the sea<03220> wrought<01980>(8802), and was tempestuous<05590>(8802) against them. {rowed: Heb. digged} {wrought...: or, grew more and more tempestuous: Heb. went}
14 他們便求告<07121>(8799){<0413>}耶和華<03068>說<0559>(8799)：「耶和華<03068>啊，我們懇求<0577>你，不要<0408><04994>因這<02088>人<0376>的性命<09002><05315>使我們死亡<06>(8799)，不要<0408>使<05414>(8799)流無辜<05355>(8675)血<01818>的罪歸與我們<05921>；因為<03588>你<0859>─耶和華<03068>是隨<09003><0834>自己的意旨<02654>(8804)行事<06213>(8804)。」
Wherefore they cried<07121>(8799) unto the LORD<03068>, and said<0559>(8799), We beseech thee<0577>, O LORD<03068>, we beseech thee, let us not perish<06>(8799) for this man's<0376> life<05315>, and lay<05414>(8799) not upon us innocent<05355>(8675)<05355> blood<01818>: for thou, O LORD<03068>, hast done<06213>(8804) as it pleased<02654>(8804) thee.
15 他們遂將<0853>約拿<03124>抬起<05375>(8799)，拋<02904>(8686)在<0413>海中<03220>，海<03220>的狂浪<04480><02197>就平息了<05975>(8799)。
So they took up<05375>(8799) Jonah<03124>, and cast him forth<02904>(8686) into the sea<03220>: and the sea<03220> ceased<05975>(8799) from her raging<02197>. {ceased: Heb. stood}
16 那些人<0582>便大大<01419>敬畏<03372>(8799)<03374>{<0853>}耶和華<03068>，向耶和華<09001><03068>獻<02076>(8799)祭<02077>，並且許<05087>(8799)願<05088>。
Then the men<0582> feared<03372>(8799) the LORD<03068> exceedingly<01419><03374>, and offered<02076>(8799) a sacrifice<02077> unto the LORD<03068>, and made<05087>(8799) vows<05088>. {offered...: Heb. sacrifice unto the LORD, and vowed vows}
17 耶和華<03068>安排<04487>(8762)一條大<01419>魚<01709>吞了<09001><01104>(8800){<0853>}約拿<03124>，{<01961>}他<03124>在魚<01709>腹中<09002><04578>三<07969>日<03117>三<07969>夜<03915>。
Now the LORD<03068> had prepared<04487>(8762) a great<01419> fish<01709> to swallow up<01104>(8800) Jonah<03124>. And Jonah<03124> was in the belly<04578> of the fish<01709> three<07969> days<03117> and three<07969> nights<03915>. {belly: Heb. bowels}
