40 耶利米<01931>鎖<0631>(8803){<09002>}{<0246>}在耶路撒冷<03389>和猶大<03063>被擄到<01540>(8716)<01546>巴比倫<0894>的{<03605>}人中<09002><08432>，護衛<02876>長<07227>尼布撒拉旦<05018>{<09002>}{<03947>}{(8800)}{<0853>}將他<0853>從<04480>拉瑪<07414>釋放<07971>(8763)以後<0310>，{<04480>}{<0854>}耶和華<03068>的<0834>話<01697>臨<01961>到<0413>耶利米<03414>。
The word<01697> that came to Jeremiah<03414> from the LORD<03068>, after<0310> that Nebuzaradan<05018> the captain<07227> of the guard<02876> had let him go<07971>(8763) from Ramah<07414>, when he had taken<03947>(8800) him being bound<0631>(8803) in chains<0246> among<08432> all that were carried away captive<01546> of Jerusalem<03389> and Judah<03063>, which were carried away captive<01540>(8716) unto Babylon<0894>. {chains: or, manicles}
2 護衛<02876>長<07227>將耶利米<09001><03414>叫來<03947>(8799)，對他<0413>說<0559>(8799)：「耶和華<03068>─你的　神<0430>曾說<01696>(8765)要降<0853>這<02063>禍<07451>與<0413>此<02088>地<04725>。
And the captain<07227> of the guard<02876> took<03947>(8799) Jeremiah<03414>, and said<0559>(8799) unto him, The LORD<03068> thy God<0430> hath pronounced<01696>(8765) this evil<07451> upon this place<04725>.
3 耶和華<03068>使這禍臨到<0935>(8686)，照<09003><0834>他所說的<01696>(8765)行了<06213>(8799)；因為<03588>你們得罪<02398>(8804)耶和華<09001><03068>，沒有<03808>聽從<08085>(8804)他的話<09002><06963>，所以這<02088>事<01697>臨<01961>到你們<09001>。
Now the LORD<03068> hath brought<0935>(8686) it , and done<06213>(8799) according as he hath said<01696>(8765): because ye have sinned<02398>(8804) against the LORD<03068>, and have not obeyed<08085>(8804) his voice<06963>, therefore this thing<01697> is come upon you.
4 現在<06258>{<02009>}{<03117>}我解開<06605>(8765){<0834>}{<05921>}你手<03027>上的<04480>鍊子<0246>，你若<0518>看<09002><05869>與我<0854>同往巴比倫<0894>去<09001><0935>(8800)好<02896>，就可以去<0935>(8798)，我必厚待<07760>(8799){<0853>}{<05869>}你<05921>；你若<0518>看<09002><05869>與我<0854>同往巴比倫<0894>去<09001><0935>(8800)不好<07489>(8804)，就不必<02308>(8798)去。看哪<07200>(8798)，全<03605>地<0776>在你面前<09001><06440>，你以為<09002><05869>哪裡<0413>美好<02896>，哪裡<0413>合宜<03477>{<03212>}{(8800)}，只管上<09001><03212>(8800)那裡<08033>去<03212>(8798)吧！」
And now, behold, I loose<06605>(8765) thee this day<03117> from the chains<0246> which were upon thine hand<03027>. If it seem good<02896><05869> unto thee to come<0935>(8800) with me into Babylon<0894>, come<0935>(8798); and I will look well<07760>(8799)<05869> unto thee: but if it seem ill<07489>(8804)<05869> unto thee to come<0935>(8800) with me into Babylon<0894>, forbear<02308>(8798): behold<07200>(8798), all the land<0776> is before<06440> thee: whither it seemeth<0413> good<02896> and convenient<03477><05869> for thee to go<03212>(8800), thither go<03212>(8798). {were...: or, are upon thine hand} {I will...: Heb. 5 耶利米還<05750>沒有<03808>回去<07725>(8799)，護衛長說：「你可以回<07725>(8798)到<0413>沙番<08227>的孫子<01121>亞希甘<0296>的兒子<01121>基大利<01436>那裡去；現在巴比倫<0894>王<04428>立<06485>(8689)他<0834>作猶大<03063>城邑<09002><05892>的省長。你可以在他那裡<0854>住<03427>(8798)在民<05971>中<09002><08432>，不然<0176>，你看<09002><05869>哪裡<0413>{<03605>}合宜<03477>就可以上<09001><03212>(8800)那裡去<03212>(8798)。」於是護衛<02876>長<07227>送<05414>(8799)他<09001>糧食<0737>和禮物<04864>，釋放他去了<07971>(8762)。
Now while he was not yet gone back<07725>(8799), he said , Go back<07725>(8798) also to Gedaliah<01436> the son<01121> of Ahikam<0296> the son<01121> of Shaphan<08227>, whom the king<04428> of Babylon<0894> hath made governor<06485>(8689) over the cities<05892> of Judah<03063>, and dwell<03427>(8798) with him among<08432> the people<05971>: or go<03212>(8798) wheresoever it seemeth convenient<03477><05869> unto thee to go<03212>(8800). So the captain<07227> of the guard<02876> gave<05414>(8799) him victuals<0737> and a reward<04864>, and let him go<07971>(8762).
6 耶利米<03414>就到<0935>(8799)米斯巴<04708>見<0413>亞希甘<0296>的兒子<01121>基大利<01436>，在他那裡<0854>住<03427>(8799)在境內<09002><0776>剩下的<07604>(8737)民<05971>中<09002><08432>。
Then went<0935>(8799) Jeremiah<03414> unto Gedaliah<01436> the son<01121> of Ahikam<0296> to Mizpah<04708>; and dwelt<03427>(8799) with him among<08432> the people<05971> that were left<07604>(8737) in the land<0776>.
7 在田野<09002><07704>的<0834>一切<03605>軍<02428>長<08269>和屬他們<01931>的人<0582>聽見<08085>(8799){<03588>}巴比倫<0894>王<04428>立了<06485>(8689){<0853>}亞希甘<0296>的兒子<01121>基大利<01436>作境內<09002><0776>的省長，並<03588>將<04480><0834>沒有<03808>擄到<01540>(8717)巴比倫<0894>的男人<0582>、婦女<0802>、孩童<02945>，和境<0776>內極窮的人<04480><01803>全交<06485>(8689)給他<0853>。
Now when all the captains<08269> of the forces<02428> which were in the fields<07704>, even they and their men<0582>, heard<08085>(8799) that the king<04428> of Babylon<0894> had made Gedaliah<01436> the son<01121> of Ahikam<0296> governor<06485>(8689) in the land<0776>, and had committed<06485>(8689) unto him men<0582>, and women<0802>, and children<02945>, and of the poor<01803> of the land<0776>, of them that were not carried away captive<01540>(8717) to Babylon<0894>;
8 於是軍長尼探雅<05418>的兒子<01121>以實瑪利<03458>，加利亞<07143>的兩個兒子<01121>約哈難<03110>和約拿單<03129>，單戶篾<08576>的兒子<01121>西萊雅<08304>，並尼陀法人<05200>以斐<05778>的眾子<01121>，瑪迦人<04602>的兒子<01121>耶撒尼亞<03153>和屬他們<01992>的人<0582>，都到<0935>(8799)米斯巴<04708>見<0413>基大利<01436>。
Then they came<0935>(8799) to Gedaliah<01436> to Mizpah<04708>, even Ishmael<03458> the son<01121> of Nethaniah<05418>, and Johanan<03110> and Jonathan<03129> the sons<01121> of Kareah<07143>, and Seraiah<08304> the son<01121> of Tanhumeth<08576>, and the sons<01121> of Ephai<05778> the Netophathite<05200>, and Jezaniah<03153> the son<01121> of a Maachathite<04602>, they and their men<0582>.
9 沙番<08227>的孫子<01121>亞希甘<0296>的兒子<01121>基大利<01436>向他們<09001>和屬他們的人<09001><0582>起誓<07650>(8735)說<09001><0559>(8800)：「不要<0408>怕<03372>(8799)服事<04480><05647>(8800)迦勒底人<03778>，只管住<03427>(8798)在這地<09002><0776>，服事<05647>(8798){<0853>}巴比倫<0894>王<04428>，就可以得福<03190>(8799){<09001>}。
And Gedaliah<01436> the son<01121> of Ahikam<0296> the son<01121> of Shaphan<08227> sware<07650>(8735) unto them and to their men<0582>, saying<0559>(8800), Fear<03372>(8799) not to serve<05647>(8800) the Chaldeans<03778>: dwell in<03427>(8798) the land<0776>, and serve<05647>(8798) the king<04428> of Babylon<0894>, and it shall be well<03190>(8799) with you.
10 至於我<0589>，我<02009>要住<03427>(8802)在米斯巴<09002><04709>，伺候<09001><05975>(8800){<09001>}{<06440>}那<0834>到我們<0413>這裡來<0935>(8799)的迦勒底人<03778>；只是你們<0859>當積蓄<0622>(8798)酒<03196>、油<08081>，和夏天的果子<07019>，收<07760>(8798)在器皿裡<09002><03627>，住<03427>(8798)在你們所<0834>佔的<08610>(8804)城邑中<09002><05892>。」
As for me, behold, I will dwell<03427>(8802) at Mizpah<04709> to serve<05975>(8800)<06440> the Chaldeans<03778>, which will come<0935>(8799) unto us: but ye, gather<0622>(8798) ye wine<03196>, and summer fruits<07019>, and oil<08081>, and put<07760>(8798) them in your vessels<03627>, and dwell<03427>(8798) in your cities<05892> that ye have taken<08610>(8804). {to serve: Heb. to stand before}

Likewise when all the Jews<03064> that were in Moab<04124>, and among the Ammonites<05983>, and in Edom<0123>, and that were in all the countries<0776>, heard<08085>(8804) that the king<04428> of Babylon<0894> had left<05414>(8804) a remnant<07611> of Judah<03063>, and that he had set<06485>(8689) over them Gedaliah<01436> the son<01121> of Ahikam<0296> the son<01121> of Shaphan<08227>;
12 這一切<03605>猶大人<03064>就從所<0834>趕<05080>(8738)到{<08033>}的各<04480><03605>處<04725>回來<07725>(8799)，到<0935>(8799)猶大<03063>地<0776>米斯巴<04708>的{<0413>}基大利<01436>那裡，又積蓄了<0622>(8799)許<03966>多<07235>(8687)的酒<03196>，並夏天的果子<07019>。
Even all the Jews<03064> returned out<07725>(8799) of all places<04725> whither they were driven<05080>(8738), and came<0935>(8799) to the land<0776> of Judah<03063>, to Gedaliah<01436>, unto Mizpah<04708>, and gathered<0622>(8799) wine<03196> and summer fruits<07019> very<03966> much<07235>(8687).
13 加利亞<07143>的兒子<01121>約哈難<03110>和<0834>在田野<09002><07704>的一切<03605>軍<02428>長<08269>來<0935>(8804)到米斯巴<04708>見<0413>基大利<01436>，
Moreover Johanan<03110> the son<01121> of Kareah<07143>, and all the captains<08269> of the forces<02428> that were in the fields<07704>, came<0935>(8804) to Gedaliah<01436> to Mizpah<04708>,
14 對他<0413>說<0559>(8799)：「{<03588>}亞捫<05983>人<01121>的王<04428>巴利斯<01185>打發<07971>(8804){<0853>}尼探雅<05418>的兒子<01121>以實瑪利<03458>來要<09001><05221>(8687)你的命<05315>，你知道嗎<03045>(8800)<03045>(8799)？」亞希甘<0296>的兒子<01121>基大利<01436>卻不<03808>信<0539>(8689)他們<09001>的話。
And said<0559>(8799) unto him, Dost thou certainly<03045>(8800) know<03045>(8799) that Baalis<01185> the king<04428> of the Ammonites<01121><05983> hath sent<07971>(8804) Ishmael<03458> the son<01121> of Nethaniah<05418> to slay<05221>(8687)<05315> thee? But Gedaliah<01436> the son<01121> of Ahikam<0296> believed<0539>(8689) them not. {to slay...: Heb. to strike thee in soul?}
15 加利亞<07143>的兒子<01121>約哈難<03110>在米斯巴<09002><04709>私下<09002><05643>{<0559>}{(8804)}對<0413>基大利<01436>說<09001><0559>(8800)：「求<04994>你容我去<03212>(8799)殺<05221>(8686){<0853>}尼探雅<05418>的兒子<01121>以實瑪利<03458>，必無<03808>人<0376>知道<03045>(8799)。何必<09001><04100>讓他要<05221>(8686)你的命<05315>，使聚集<06908>(8737)到你這裡<0413>來的猶大人<03063>都<03605>分散<06327>(8738)，以致猶大<03063>剩下的人<07611>都滅亡<06>(8804)呢？」
Then Johanan<03110> the son<01121> of Kareah<07143> spake<0559>(8804) to Gedaliah<01436> in Mizpah<04709> secretly<05643>, saying<0559>(8800), Let me go<03212>(8799), I pray thee, and I will slay<05221>(8686) Ishmael<03458> the son<01121> of Nethaniah<05418>, and no man<0376> shall know<03045>(8799) it : wherefore should he slay<05221>(8686)<05315> thee, that all the Jews<03064> which are gathered<06908>(8737) unto thee should be scattered<06327>(8738), and the remnant<07611> in Judah<03063> perish<06>(8804)?
16 亞希甘<0296>的兒子<01121>基大利<01436>對<0413>加利亞<07143>的兒子<01121>約哈難<03110>說<0559>(8799)：「你不可<0408>行<06213>(8799){<0853>}這<02088>事<01697>，你<0859>所論<0413>以實瑪利<03458>的話<01696>(8802)是<03588>假的<08267>。」
But Gedaliah<01436> the son<01121> of Ahikam<0296> said<0559>(8799) unto Johanan<03110> the son<01121> of Kareah<07143>, Thou shalt not do<06213>(8799) this thing<01697>: for thou speakest<01696>(8802) falsely<08267> of Ishmael<03458>.
