18:1 {<04480>}{<0854>}耶和華<03068>的話<01697>{<0834>}臨<01961>到<0413>耶利米<03414>說<09001><0559>(8800)：
The word<01697> which came to Jeremiah<03414> from the LORD<03068>, saying<0559>(8800),
18:2 「你起來<06965>(8798)，下到<03381>(8804)窯匠的<03335>(8802)家<01004>裡去，我在那裡<08033>要使你聽<08085>(8686){<0853>}我的話<01697>。」
Arise<06965>(8798), and go down<03381>(8804) to the potter's<03335>(8802) house<01004>, and there I will cause thee to hear<08085>(8686) my words<01697>.
18:3 我就下到<03381>(8799)窯匠的<03335>(8802)家<01004>裡去，正遇他<02009>轉<05921>輪<070>做<06213>(8802)器皿<04399>。
Then I went down<03381>(8799) to the potter's<03335>(8802) house<01004>, and, behold<02009>, he wrought<06213>(8802) a work<04399> on the wheels<070>. {wheels: or, frames, or, seats}
18:4 窯匠<03335>(8802)用泥<09002><02563>做<06213>(8802)的器皿<03627>，{<0834>}在他<01931>手中<09002><03027>做壞了<07843>(8738)，他又<07725>(8804)用這泥另<0312>做<06213>(8799)別的<0312>器皿<03627>；窯匠<03335>(8802)看<09002><05869>怎樣<09003><0834>好<03474>(8804)，就怎樣做<09001><06213>(8800)。
And the vessel<03627> that he made<06213>(8802) of clay<02563> was marred<07843>(8738) in the hand<03027> of the potter<03335>(8802): so he made<06213>(8799) it again<07725>(8804) another<0312> vessel<03627>, as seemed<05869> good<03474>(8804) to the potter<03335>(8802) to make<06213>(8800) it . {of clay...: or, was marred, as clay in the hand of the potter} {made it...: Heb. returned and made, etc}
18:5 耶和華<03068>的話<01697>就臨<01961>到我<0413>說<09001><0559>(8800)：
Then the word<01697> of the LORD<03068> came to me, saying<0559>(8800),
18:6 耶和華<03068>說<05002>(8803)：「以色列<03478>家<01004>啊，我待<09001><06213>(8800)你們<09001>，豈不<03808>能<03201>(8799)照這<02088>窯匠<09003><03335>(8802)弄泥嗎？{<02009>}以色列<03478>家<01004>啊，泥<09003><02563>在窯匠的<03335>(8802)手中<09002><03027>怎樣，你們<0859>在我的手中<09002><03027>也怎樣<03651>。
O house<01004> of Israel<03478>, cannot<03201>(8799) I do<06213>(8800) with you as this potter<03335>(8802)? saith<05002>(8803) the LORD<03068>. Behold, as the clay<02563> is in the potter's<03335>(8802) hand<03027>, so are ye in mine hand<03027>, O house<01004> of Israel<03478>.
18:7 我何時<07281>論<01696>(8762)到<05921>一邦<04467>或<05921>一國<01471>說，要拔出<09001><05428>(8800)、拆毀<09001><05422>(8800)、毀壞<09001><06>(8687)；
At what instant<07281> I shall speak<01696>(8762) concerning a nation<01471>, and concerning a kingdom<04467>, to pluck up<05428>(8800), and to pull down<05422>(8800), and to destroy<06>(8687) it ;
18:8 我所<0834>說<01696>(8765)的<05921>那<01931>一邦<01471>，若是轉<07725>(8804)意離開他們的惡<04480><07451>，我就必後悔<05162>(8738)，{<05921>}不將<0834>我想<02803>(8804)要施行<09001><06213>(8800)的災禍<07451>降與他們{<09001>}。
If that nation<01471>, against whom I have pronounced<01696>(8765), turn<07725>(8804) from their evil<07451>, I will repent<05162>(8738) of the evil<07451> that I thought<02803>(8804) to do<06213>(8800) unto them.
18:9 我何時<07281>論<01696>(8762)到<05921>一邦<04467>或<05921>一國<01471>說，要建立<09001><01129>(8800)、栽植<09001><05193>(8800)；
And at what instant<07281> I shall speak<01696>(8762) concerning a nation<01471>, and concerning a kingdom<04467>, to build<01129>(8800) and to plant<05193>(8800) it ;
18:10 他們若行<06213>(8804)我眼中<09002><05869>看為惡<07451>的事，不<09001><01115>聽從<08085>(8800)我的話<09002><06963>，我就必後悔<05162>(8738)，{<05921>}不將我所<0834>說的<0559>(8804)福氣<02896>賜<09001><03190>(8687)給他們<0853>。
If it do<06213>(8804) evil<07451> in my sight<05869>, that it obey<08085>(8800) not my voice<06963>, then I will repent<05162>(8738) of the good<02896>, wherewith I said<0559>(8804) I would benefit<03190>(8687) them.
18:11 現在<06258>你要<04994>{<0559>}{(8798)}對<0413>猶大<03063>人<0376>和<05921>耶路撒冷<03389>的居民<03427>(8802)說<09001><0559>(8800)：『耶和華<03068>如此<03541>說<0559>(8804)：{<02009>}我<0595>造出<03335>(8802)災禍<07451>攻擊你們<05921>，定<02803>(8802)意<04284>刑罰你們<05921>。你們各人<0376>當<04994>回頭<07725>(8798)離開所行的惡<07451>道<04480><01870>，改正<03190>(8685)你們的行動<01870>作為<04611>。』
Now therefore go to, speak<0559>(8798) to the men<0376> of Judah<03063>, and to the inhabitants<03427>(8802) of Jerusalem<03389>, saying<0559>(8800), Thus saith<0559>(8804) the LORD<03068>; Behold, I frame<03335>(8802) evil<07451> against you, and devise<02803>(8802) a device<04284> against you: return<07725>(8798) ye now every one<0376> from his evil<07451> way<01870>, and make your ways<01870> and your doings<04611> good<03190>(8685).
18:12 「他們卻說<0559>(8804)：『這是枉然<02976>(8737)。{<03588>}我們要照<0310>自己的計謀<04284>去行<03212>(8799)。』各人<0376>隨自己頑梗<08307>的惡<07451>心<03820>做<06213>(8799)事。」
And they said<0559>(8804), There is no hope<02976>(8737): but we will walk<03212>(8799) after<0310> our own devices<04284>, and we will every one<0376> do<06213>(8799) the imagination<08307> of his evil<07451> heart<03820>.
18:13 所以<09001><03651>，耶和華<03068>如此<03541>說<0559>(8804)：你們且<04994>往各國<09002><01471>訪問<07592>(8798)，有誰<04310>聽見<08085>(8804)這樣的事<09003><0428>？以色列民<03478>（原文是處女<01330>）行了<06213>(8804)一件極<03966>可憎惡的事<08186>。
Therefore thus saith<0559>(8804) the LORD<03068>; Ask<07592>(8798) ye now among the heathen<01471>, who hath heard<08085>(8804) such things: the virgin<01330> of Israel<03478> hath done<06213>(8804) a very<03966> horrible thing<08186>.
18:14 黎巴嫩<03844>的雪<07950>從田野<07704>的磐石<04480><06697>上豈能斷絕<05800>(8799)呢？從遠處<02114>(8801)流<05140>(8802)下的涼<07119>水<04325>豈能<0518>乾涸<05428>(8735)呢？
Will a man leave<05800>(8799) the snow<07950> of Lebanon<03844> which cometh from the rock<06697> of the field<07704>? or shall the cold<07119> flowing<05140>(8802) waters<04325> that come from another place<02114>(8801) be forsaken<05428>(8735)? {the snow...: or, my fields for a rock, or for the snow of Lebanon? shall the running waters be forsaken for the strange cold waters?}
18:15 我的百姓<05971>竟<03588>忘記我<07911>(8804)，向假神<09001><07723>燒香<06999>(8762)，使他們在所行的路上<09002><01870>，在古<05769>道<07635>(8675)上絆跌<03782>(8686)，使他們行<09001><03212>(8800){<05410>}沒有<03808>修築的<05549>(8803)斜路<01870>，
Because my people<05971> hath forgotten<07911>(8804) me, they have burned incense<06999>(8762) to vanity<07723>, and they have caused them to stumble<03782>(8686) in their ways<01870> from the ancient<05769> paths<07635>(8675)<07635>, to walk<03212>(8800) in paths<05410>, in a way<01870> not cast up<05549>(8803);
18:16 以致<09001><07760>(8800)他們的地<0776>令人驚駭<09001><08047>，常常<05769>嗤笑<08292>(8675)；凡<03605>經過<05674>(8802)這地<05921>的必驚駭<08074>(8799)搖<05110>(8686)頭<09002><07218>。
To make<07760>(8800) their land<0776> desolate<08047>, and a perpetual<05769> hissing<08292>(8675)<08292>; every one that passeth<05674>(8802) thereby shall be astonished<08074>(8799), and wag<05110>(8686) his head<07218>.
18:17 我必在仇敵<0341>(8802)面前<09001><06440>分散他們<06327>(8686)，好像用東<06921>風<09003><07307>吹散一樣。遭難<0343>的日子<09002><03117>，我必以背<06203>向他們<07200>(8799)，不<03808>以面<06440>向他們。
I will scatter<06327>(8686) them as with an east<06921> wind<07307> before<06440> the enemy<0341>(8802); I will shew<07200>(8799) them the back<06203>, and not the face<06440>, in the day<03117> of their calamity<0343>.
18:18 他們就說<0559>(8799)：「來吧<03212>(8798)！我們可以設<02803>(8799)計<04284>謀害<05921>耶利米<03414>；因為<03588>我們有祭司<04480><03548>講律法<08451>，智慧人<04480><02450>設謀略<06098>，先知<04480><05030>說預言<01697>，都不能<03808>斷絕<06>(8799)。來吧<03212>(8798)！我們可以用舌頭<09002><03956>擊打他<05221>(8686)，不要<0408>理會<07181>(8686){<0413>}他的一切<03605>話<01697>。」
Then said<0559>(8799) they, Come<03212>(8798), and let us devise<02803>(8799) devices<04284> against Jeremiah<03414>; for the law<08451> shall not perish<06>(8799) from the priest<03548>, nor counsel<06098> from the wise<02450>, nor the word<01697> from the prophet<05030>. Come<03212>(8798), and let us smite<05221>(8686) him with the tongue<03956>, and let us not give heed<07181>(8686) to any of his words<01697>. {with...: or, for the tongue}
18:19 耶和華啊<03068>，求你理會<07181>(8685)我<0413>，且聽<08085>(8798)那些與我爭競之人<03401>的話<09001><06963>。
Give heed<07181>(8685) to me, O LORD<03068>, and hearken<08085>(8798) to the voice<06963> of them that contend<03401> with me.
18:20 豈可以惡<07451>報<07999>(8792){<08478>}善<02896>呢？他們竟<03588>挖<03738>(8804)坑<07745>要害我的性命<09001><05315>！求你記念<02142>(8798)我怎樣站<05975>(8800)在你面前<09001><06440>為他們<05921>代求<09001><01696>(8763)<02896>，要使<0853>你的忿怒<02534>向他們<04480>轉消<09001><07725>(8687)。
Shall evil<07451> be recompensed<07999>(8792) for good<02896>? for they have digged<03738>(8804) a pit<07745> for my soul<05315>. Remember<02142>(8798) that I stood<05975>(8800) before<06440> thee to speak<01696>(8763) good<02896> for them, and to turn away<07725>(8687) thy wrath<02534> from them.
18:21 故此<09001><03651>，願你將<0853>他們的兒女<01121>交<05414>(8798)與饑荒<09001><07458>和<05064>(8685){<05921>}{<03027>}刀劍<02719>；願<01961>他們的妻<0802>無子<07909>，且作寡婦<0490>；又願<01961>他們的男人<0582>被死亡<04194>所滅<02026>(8803)，他們的少年人<0970>在陣上<09002><04421>被刀<02719>擊殺<05221>(8716)。
Therefore deliver up<05414>(8798) their children<01121> to the famine<07458>, and pour out<05064>(8685) their blood by the force<03027> of the sword<02719>; and let their wives<0802> be bereaved<07909> of their children, and be widows<0490>; and let their men<0582> be put<02026>(8803) to death<04194>; let their young men<0970> be slain<05221>(8716) by the sword<02719> in battle<04421>. {pour...: Heb. pour them out}
18:22 {<03588>}你使敵軍<01416>忽然<06597>臨<0935>(8686)到他們<05921>的時候，願人聽見<08085>(8735)哀聲<02201>從他們的屋內<04480><01004>發出；因<03588>他們挖<03738>(8804)坑<07745>(8675)<07882>要捉拿我<09001><03920>(8800)，暗設<02934>(8804)網羅<06341>要絆我的腳<09001><07272>。
Let a cry<02201> be heard<08085>(8735) from their houses<01004>, when thou shalt bring<0935>(8686) a troop<01416> suddenly<06597> upon them: for they have digged<03738>(8804) a pit<07745>(8675)<07882> to take<03920>(8800) me, and hid<02934>(8804) snares<06341> for my feet<07272>.
18:23 耶和華<03068>啊，他們要殺<09001><04194>我<05921>的那<0853>一切<03605>計謀<06098>，你<0859>都知道<03045>(8804)。不要<0408>赦免<03722>(8762){<05921>}他們的罪孽<05771>，也不要<0408>從你面前<04480><09001><06440>塗抹<04229>(8686)他們的罪惡<02403>，要叫他們<01961>在你面前<09001><06440>跌倒<03782>(8716)；願你發怒<0639>的時候<09002><06256>罰辦<06213>(8798)他們<09002>。
Yet, LORD<03068>, thou knowest<03045>(8804) all their counsel<06098> against me to slay<04194> me : forgive<03722>(8762) not their iniquity<05771>, neither blot out<04229>(8686) their sin<02403> from thy sight<06440>, but let them be overthrown<03782>(8716) before<06440> thee; deal<06213>(8798) thus with them in the time<06256> of thine anger<0639>. {to slay...: Heb. for death}
