The preparations<04633> of the heart<03820> in man<0120>, and the answer<04617> of the tongue<03956>, is from the LORD<03068>. {preparations: or, disposings}
16:2 人<0376>一切<03605>所行的<01870>，在自己眼中<09002><05869>看為清潔<02134>；惟有耶和華<03068>衡量<08505>(8802)人心<07307>。
All the ways<01870> of a man<0376> are clean<02134> in his own eyes<05869>; but the LORD<03068> weigheth<08505>(8802) the spirits<07307>.
16:3 你所做的<04639>，要交託<01556>(8798){<0413>}耶和華<03068>，你所謀的<04284>，就必成立<03559>(8735)。

16:5 凡<03605>心裡<03820>驕傲<01362>的，為耶和華<03068>所憎惡<08441>；雖然連手<03027><09001><03027>，他必不免<03808>受罰<05352>(8735)。
Every one that is proud<01362> in heart<03820> is an abomination<08441> to the LORD<03068>: though hand<03027> join in hand<03027>, he shall not be unpunished<05352>(8735). {unpunished: Heb. held innocent}
16:6 因憐憫<09002><02617>誠實<0571>，罪孽<05771>得贖<03722>(8792)；敬畏<09002><03374>耶和華<03068>的，遠離<05493>(8800)惡事<04480><07451>。
By mercy<02617> and truth<0571> iniquity<05771> is purged<03722>(8792): and by the fear<03374> of the LORD<03068> men depart<05493>(8800) from evil<07451>.
16:7 人<0376>所行的<01870>，若蒙耶和華<03068>喜悅<09002><07521>(8800)，耶和華也<01571>使他的仇敵<0341>(8802)與他<0854>和好<07999>(8686)。
When a man's<0376> ways<01870> please<07521>(8800) the LORD<03068>, he maketh even his enemies<0341>(8802) to be at peace<07999>(8686) with him.
16:8 多<04480><07230>有財利<08393>，行事不<09002><03808>義<04941>，不<02896>如少<04592>有財利，行事公義<09002><06666>。
Better<02896> is a little<04592> with righteousness<06666> than great<07230> revenues<08393> without right<04941>.
16:9 人<0120>心<03820>籌算<02803>(8762)自己的道路<01870>；惟耶和華<03068>指引<03559>(8686)他的腳步<06806>。
A man's<0120> heart<03820> deviseth<02803>(8762) his way<01870>: but the LORD<03068> directeth<03559>(8686) his steps<06806>.
16:10 王<04428>的嘴<08193>中有<05921>神語<07081>，審判<09002><04941>之時，他的口<06310>必不<03808>差錯<04603>(8799)。

It is an abomination<08441> to kings<04428> to commit<06213>(8800) wickedness<07562>: for the throne<03678> is established<03559>(8735) by righteousness<06666>.
16:13 公義<06664>的嘴<08193>為王<04428>所喜悅<07522>；說<01696>(8802)正直<03477>話的，為王所喜愛<0157>(8799)。
Righteous<06664> lips<08193> are the delight<07522> of kings<04428>; and they love<0157>(8799) him that speaketh<01696>(8802) right<03477>.
16:14 王<04428>的震怒<02534>如殺人<04194>的使者<04397>；但智慧<02450>人<0376>能止息<03722>(8762)王怒。
The wrath<02534> of a king<04428> is as messengers<04397> of death<04194>: but a wise<02450> man<0376> will pacify<03722>(8762) it.
16:15 王<04428>的臉<06440>光<09002><0216>使人有生命<02416>；王的恩典<07522>好像春雲<09003><05645>時雨<04456>。
In the light<0216> of the king's<04428> countenance<06440> is life<02416>; and his favour<07522> is as a cloud<05645> of the latter rain<04456>.

How much better<02896> is it to get<07069>(8800) wisdom<02451> than gold<02742>! and to get<07069>(8800) understanding<0998> rather to be chosen<0977>(8737) than silver<03701>!
16:17 正直人<03477>的道<04546>是遠離<05493>(8800)惡事<04480><07451>；謹守<05341>(8802)己路<01870>的，是保全<08104>(8802)性命<05315>。

16:18 驕傲<01347>在敗壞<07667>以先<09001><06440>；狂<01363>心<07307>在跌倒<03783>之前<09001><06440>。
