A wise<02450> son<01121> heareth his father's<01> instruction<04148>: but a scorner<03887>(8801) heareth<08085>(8804) not rebuke<01606>.
13:2 人<0376>因口<06310>所結的果子<04480><06529>，必享<0398>(8799)美福<02896>；奸詐<0898>(8802)人<05315>必遭強暴<02555>。
A man<0376> shall eat<0398>(8799) good<02896> by the fruit<06529> of his mouth<06310>: but the soul<05315> of the transgressors<0898>(8802) shall eat violence<02555>.
13:3 謹守<05341>(8802)口<06310>的，得保<08104>(8802)生命<05315>；大張<06589>(8802)嘴<08193>的，必致敗亡<04288>{<09001>}。
He that keepeth<05341>(8802) his mouth<06310> keepeth<08104>(8802) his life<05315>: but he that openeth wide<06589>(8802) his lips<08193> shall have destruction<04288>.
13:4 懶惰<06102>人<05315>羨慕<0183>(8693)，卻無<0369>所得；殷勤<02742>人<05315>必得豐裕<01878>(8792)。
The soul<05315> of the sluggard<06102> desireth<0183>(8693), and hath nothing: but the soul<05315> of the diligent<02742> shall be made fat<01878>(8792).
13:5 義人<06662>恨惡<08130>(8799)謊<08267>言<01697>；惡人<07563>有臭名<0887>(8686)，且致慚愧<02659>(8686)。
A righteous<06662> man hateth<08130>(8799) lying<01697><08267>: but a wicked<07563> man is loathsome<0887>(8686), and cometh to shame<02659>(8686).
13:6 行為<01870>正直<08537>的，有公義<06666>保守<05341>(8799)；犯罪<07564>的，被邪惡<02403>傾覆<05557>(8762)。
Righteousness<06666> keepeth<05341>(8799) him that is upright<08537> in the way<01870>: but wickedness<07564> overthroweth<05557>(8762) the sinner<02403>. {the sinner: Heb. sin}
13:7 {<03426>}假作富足<06238>(8693)的，卻一無<0369>所有<03605>；裝作窮乏<07326>(8711)的，卻廣<07227>有財物<01952>。
There is<03426> that maketh himself rich<06238>(8693), yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor<07326>(8711), yet<03605> hath great<07227> riches<01952>.
13:8 人<0376>的資財<06239>是他生命<05315>的贖價<03724>；窮乏人<07326>(8802)卻聽<08085>(8804)不<03808>見威嚇<01606>的話。
The ransom<03724> of a man's<0376> life<05315> are his riches<06239>: but the poor<07326>(8802) heareth<08085>(8804) not rebuke<01606>.
13:9 義人<06662>的光<0216>明亮（原文是歡喜<08055>(8799)）；惡人<07563>的燈<05216>要熄滅<01846>(8799)。
The light<0216> of the righteous<06662> rejoiceth<08055>(8799): but the lamp<05216> of the wicked<07563> shall be put out<01846>(8799). {lamp: or, candle}
13:10 驕傲<09002><02087>只<07535>啟<05414>(8799)爭競<04683>；聽{<0854>}勸言<03289>(8737)的，卻有智慧<02451>。
Only by pride<02087> cometh<05414>(8799) contention<04683>: but with the well advised<03289>(8737) is wisdom<02451>.
13:11 不勞而得<04480><01892>之財<01952>必然消耗<04591>(8799)；勤勞<05921><03027>積蓄<06908>(8802)的，必見加增<07235>(8686)。
Wealth<01952> gotten by vanity<01892> shall be diminished<04591>(8799): but he that gathereth<06908>(8802) by labour<03027> shall increase<07235>(8686). {by labour: Heb. with the hand}
13:12 所盼望<08431>的遲延<04900>(8794)未得，令人心<03820>憂<02470>(8688)；所願意<08378>的臨到<0935>(8802)，卻是生命<02416>樹<06086>。
Hope<08431> deferred<04900>(8794) maketh the heart<03820> sick<02470>(8688): but when the desire<08378> cometh<0935>(8802), it is a tree<06086> of life<02416>.
13:13 藐視<0936>(8802)訓言<09001><01697>的，自取<09001>滅亡<02254>(8735)；敬畏<03373>誡命<04687>的，必<01931>得善報<07999>(8792)。
Whoso despiseth<0936>(8802) the word<01697> shall be destroyed<02254>(8735): but he that feareth<03373> the commandment<04687> shall be rewarded<07999>(8792). {shall be rewarded: or, shall be in peace}
13:14 智慧人<02450>的法則<08451>（或譯：指教）是生命<02416>的泉源<04726>，可以使人離開<09001><05493>(8800)死亡<04194>的網羅<04480><04170>。
The law<08451> of the wise<02450> is a fountain<04726> of life<02416>, to depart<05493>(8800) from the snares<04170> of death<04194>.
13:15 美好的<02896>聰明<07922>使<05414>(8799)人蒙恩<02580>；奸詐人<0898>(8802)的道路<01870>崎嶇<0386>難行。
Good<02896> understanding<07922> giveth<05414>(8799) favour<02580>: but the way<01870> of transgressors<0898>(8802) is hard<0386>.
13:16 凡<03605>通達人<06175>都憑知識<09002><01847>行事<06213>(8799)；愚昧人<03684>張揚<06566>(8799)自己的愚昧<0200>。
Every prudent<06175> man dealeth<06213>(8799) with knowledge<01847>: but a fool<03684> layeth open<06566>(8799) his folly<0200>. {layeth...: Heb. spreadeth}
13:17 奸惡<07563>的使者<04397>必陷<05307>(8799)在禍患<09002><07451>裡；忠信<0529>的使臣<06735>乃醫人的良藥<04832>。

13:18 棄絕<06544>(8802)管教<04148>的，必致貧<07389>受辱<07036>；領受<08104>(8802)責備<08433>的，必得尊榮<03513>(8792)。
Poverty<07389> and shame<07036> shall be to him that refuseth<06544>(8802) instruction<04148>: but he that regardeth<08104>(8802) reproof<08433> shall be honoured<03513>(8792).
13:19 所欲<08378>的成就<01961>(8738)，心<09001><05315>覺甘甜<06149>(8799)；遠離<05493>(8800)惡事<04480><07451>，為愚昧人<03684>所憎惡<08441>。
The desire<08378> accomplished<01961>(8738) is sweet<06149>(8799) to the soul<05315>: but it is abomination<08441> to fools<03684> to depart<05493>(8800) from evil<07451>.
13:20 與<0854>智慧人<02450>同行<01980>(8802)的，必得智慧<02449>(8799)；和愚昧人<03684>作伴<07462>(8802)的，必受虧損<07321>(8735)。

13:22 善<02896>人給子<01121>孫<01121>遺留<05157>(8686)產業；罪人<02398>(8802)為義人<09001><06662>積存<06845>(8803)資財<02428>。
A good<02896> man leaveth an inheritance<05157>(8686) to his children's<01121> children<01121>: and the wealth<02428> of the sinner<02398>(8802) is laid up<06845>(8803) for the just<06662>.
13:23 窮人<07218>(8676)<07326>(8802)耕種<05215>多<07230>得糧食<0400>，但因不<09002><03808>義<04941>，有<03426>消滅<05595>(8737)的。
Much<07230> food<0400> is in the tillage<05215> of the poor<07218>(8676)<07326>(8802): but there is<03426> that is destroyed<05595>(8737) for want<03808> of judgment<04941>.
13:24 不忍<02820>(8802)用杖<07626>打兒子<01121>的，是恨惡<08130>(8802)他；疼愛<0157>(8802)兒子的，隨時<07836>(8765)管教<04148>。
He that spareth<02820>(8802) his rod<07626> hateth<08130>(8802) his son<01121>: but he that loveth<0157>(8802) him chasteneth<04148> him betimes<07836>(8765).
13:25 義人<06662>吃<0398>(8802)得飽足<09001><07648>{<05315>}；惡人<07563>肚腹<0990>缺糧<02637>(8799)。
The righteous<06662> eateth<0398>(8802) to the satisfying<07648> of his soul<05315>: but the belly<0990> of the wicked<07563> shall want<02637>(8799).
