4:1 眾子啊<01121>，要聽<08085>(8798)父親<01>的教訓<04148>，留心<07181>(8685)得知<09001><03045>(8800)聰明<0998>。
Hear<08085>(8798), ye children<01121>, the instruction<04148> of a father<01>, and attend<07181>(8685) to know<03045>(8800) understanding<0998>.
4:2 因<03588>我所給<05414>(8804)你們<09001>的是好<02896>教訓<03948>；不可<0408>離棄<05800>(8799)我的法則<08451>（或譯：指教）。
For I give<05414>(8804) you good<02896> doctrine<03948>, forsake<05800>(8799) ye not my law<08451>.
4:3 {<03588>}我在父親<09001><01>面前為<01961>孝子<01121>，在母親<0517>眼中<09001><06440>為獨一的<03173>嬌兒<07390>。
For I was my father's<01> son<01121>, tender<07390> and only<03173> beloved in the sight<06440> of my mother<0517>.
4:4 父親教訓我<03384>(8686)說<0559>(8799){<09001>}：你心<03820>要存記<08551>(8799)我的言語<01697>，遵守<08104>(8798)我的命令<04687>，便得存活<02421>(8798)。
He taught<03384>(8686) me also, and said<0559>(8799) unto me, Let thine heart<03820> retain<08551>(8799) my words<01697>: keep<08104>(8798) my commandments<04687>, and live<02421>(8798).
4:5 要得<07069>(8798)智慧<02451>，要得<07069>(8798)聰明<0998>，不可<0408>忘記<07911>(8799)，也不可<0408>偏離<05186>(8799)我口中<06310>的言語<04480><0561>。
Get<07069>(8798) wisdom<02451>, get<07069>(8798) understanding<0998>: forget<07911>(8799) it not; neither decline<05186>(8799) from the words<0561> of my mouth<06310>.
4:6 不可<0408>離棄<05800>(8799)智慧，智慧就護衛你<08104>(8799)；要愛她<0157>(8798)，她就保守你<05341>(8799)。
Forsake<05800>(8799) her not, and she shall preserve<08104>(8799) thee: love<0157>(8798) her, and she shall keep<05341>(8799) thee.
4:7 智慧<02451>為首<07225>；所以，要得<07069>(8798)智慧<02451>。在你一切<09002><03605>所得<07075>之內必得<07069>(8798)聰明<0998>（或譯：用你一切所得的去換聰明）。
Wisdom<02451> is the principal thing<07225>; therefore get<07069>(8798) wisdom<02451>: and with all thy getting<07075> get understanding<0998>.
4:8 高舉<05549>(8769)智慧，她就使你高升<07311>(8787)；{<03588>}懷抱<02263>(8762)智慧，她就使你尊榮<03513>(8762)。
Exalt<05549>(8769) her, and she shall promote<07311>(8787) thee: she shall bring thee to honour<03513>(8762), when thou dost embrace<02263>(8762) her.
4:9 她必將華<02580>冠<03880>加<05414>(8799)在你頭上<09001><07218>，把榮<08597>冕<05850>交給你<04042>(8762)。
She shall give<05414>(8799) to thine head<07218> an ornament<03880> of grace<02580>: a crown<05850> of glory<08597> shall she deliver<04042>(8762) to thee. {a crown...: or, she shall compass thee with a crown of glory}
4:10 我兒<01121>，你要聽<08085>(8798)受<03947>(8798)我的言語<0561>，就必延<07235>(8799){<09001>}年<08141>益壽<02416>。
Hear<08085>(8798), O my son<01121>, and receive<03947>(8798) my sayings<0561>; and the years<08141> of thy life<02416> shall be many<07235>(8799).
4:11 我已指教你<03384>(8689)走智慧<02451>的道<09002><01870>，引導你<01869>(8689)行正直<03476>的路<09002><04570>。
I have taught<03384>(8689) thee in the way<01870> of wisdom<02451>; I have led<01869>(8689) thee in right<03476> paths<04570>.
4:12 你行走<09002><03212>(8800)，腳步<06806>必不致<03808>狹窄<03334>(8799)；{<0518>}你奔跑<07323>(8799)，也不致<03808>跌倒<03782>(8735)。
When thou goest<03212>(8800), thy steps<06806> shall not be straitened<03334>(8799); and when thou runnest<07323>(8799), thou shalt not stumble<03782>(8735).
4:13 要持定<02388>(8685)訓誨<09002><04148>，不可<0408>放鬆<07503>(8686)；必當謹守<05341>(8798)，因為<03588>它<01931>是你的生命<02416>。
Take fast hold<02388>(8685) of instruction<04148>; let her not go<07503>(8686): keep<05341>(8798) her; for she is thy life<02416>.
4:14 不可<0408>行<0935>(8799)惡人<07563>的路<09002><0734>；不要<0408>走<0833>(8762)壞人<07451>的道<09002><01870>。
Enter<0935>(8799) not into the path<0734> of the wicked<07563>, and go<0833>(8762) not in the way<01870> of evil<07451> men .
4:15 要躲避<06544>(8798)，不可<0408>經過<05674>(8799){<09002>}；要轉身<07847>(8798){<04480>}{<05921>}而去<05674>(8798)。
Avoid<06544>(8798) it, pass<05674>(8799) not by it, turn<07847>(8798) from it, and pass away<05674>(8798).
4:16 這等人若<0518>不<03808>行惡<07489>(8686)，{<03588>}不得<03808>睡覺<03462>(8799)；{<0518>}不<03808>使人跌倒<03782>(8686)(8675)<03782>(8799)，睡臥<08142>不安<01497>(8738)；
For they sleep<03462>(8799) not, except they have done mischief<07489>(8686); and their sleep<08142> is taken away<01497>(8738), unless they cause some to fall<03782>(8686)(8675)<03782>(8799).
4:17 因為<03588>他們以奸惡<07562>吃<03898>(8804)餅<03899>，以強暴<02555>喝<08354>(8799)酒<03196>。
For they eat<03898>(8804) the bread<03899> of wickedness<07562>, and drink<08354>(8799) the wine<03196> of violence<02555>.
4:18 但義人<06662>的路<0734>好像黎明的<05051>光<09003><0216>，越照<01980>(8802)越明<0215>(8804)，直到<05704>日<03117>午<03559>(8737)。
But the path<0734> of the just<06662> is as the shining<05051> light<0216>, that shineth<0215>(8804) more<01980>(8802) and more unto the perfect<03559>(8737) day<03117>.
4:19 惡人<07563>的道<01870>好像幽暗<09003><0653>，自己不<03808>知<03045>(8804)因甚麼<09002><04100>跌倒<03782>(8735)。
The way<01870> of the wicked<07563> is as darkness<0653>: they know<03045>(8804) not at what they stumble<03782>(8735).
4:20 我兒<01121>，要留心<07181>(8685)聽我的言詞<09001><01697>，側<05186>(8685)耳<0241>聽我的話語<09001><0561>，
My son<01121>, attend<07181>(8685) to my words<01697>; incline<05186>(8685) thine ear<0241> unto my sayings<0561>.
4:21 都不可<0408>離<03868>(8686)你的眼目<04480><05869>，要存記<08104>(8798)在你心<03824>中<09002><08432>。
Let them not depart<03868>(8686) from thine eyes<05869>; keep<08104>(8798) them in the midst<08432> of thine heart<03824>.
4:22 因為<03588>得著它的<09001><04672>(8802)，{<01992>}就得了生命<02416>，又得了醫<04832>全<09001><03605>體<01320>的良藥。
For they are life<02416> unto those that find<04672>(8802) them, and health<04832> to all their flesh<01320>. {health: Heb. medicine}
4:23 你要保守<05341>(8798)你心<03820>，勝過保守一切<04480><03605>（或譯：你要切切<04929>保守你心），因為<03588>一生<02416>的果效<08444>是由心<04480>發出。
Keep<05341>(8798) thy heart<03820> with all diligence<04929>; for out of it are the issues<08444> of life<02416>. {with...: Heb. above all keeping}
4:24 你要除掉<05493>(8685){<04480>}邪僻的<06143>口<06310>，棄絕<07368>(8685){<04480>}乖謬的<03891>嘴<08193>。
Put away<05493>(8685) from thee a froward<06143> mouth<06310>, and perverse<03891> lips<08193> put far<07368>(8685) from thee. {a froward...: Heb. frowardness of mouth and perverseness of lips}
4:25 你的眼目<05869>要向前正<09001><05227>看<05027>(8686)；你的眼睛（原文是皮<06079>）當向前<05048>直觀<03474>(8686)。
Let thine eyes<05869> look<05027>(8686) right on<05227>, and let thine eyelids<06079> look straight<03474>(8686) before thee.
4:26 要修平<06424>(8761)你腳<07272>下的路<04570>，堅定<03559>(8735)你一切<03605>的道<01870>。
Ponder<06424>(8761) the path<04570> of thy feet<07272>, and let all thy ways<01870> be established<03559>(8735). {let...: or, all thy ways shall be ordered aright}
4:27 不可<0408>偏向<05186>(8799)左<08040>右<03225>；要使你的腳<07272>離開<05493>(8685)邪惡<04480><07451>。
Turn<05186>(8799) not to the right hand<03225> nor to the left<08040>: remove<05493>(8685) thy foot<07272> from evil<07451>.
