4:1 末底改<04782>知道<03045>(8804){<0853>}所<0834>做<06213>(8738)的這一切<03605>事，{<04782>}就撕裂<07167>(8799){<0853>}衣服<0899>，穿<03847>(8799)麻衣<08242>，蒙灰塵<0665>，在城<05892>中<09002><08432>行走<03318>(8799)，痛<01419>哭<02199>(8799)哀<04751>號<02201>。
When Mordecai<04782> perceived<03045>(8804) all that was done<06213>(8738), Mordecai<04782> rent<07167>(8799) his clothes<0899>, and put on<03847>(8799) sackcloth<08242> with ashes<0665>, and went out<03318>(8799) into the midst<08432> of the city<05892>, and cried<02199>(8799) with a loud<01419> and a bitter<04751> cry<02201>;
4:2 到了<0935>(8799){<05704>}朝門<04428><08179>前<09001><06440>停住腳步，因為<03588>穿<09002><03830>麻衣<08242>的不可<0369>進<09001><0935>(8800){<0413>}朝<04428>門<08179>。
And came<0935>(8799) even before<06440> the king's<04428> gate<08179>: for none might enter<0935>(8800) into the king's<04428> gate<08179> clothed<03830> with sackcloth<08242>.
4:3 王<04428>的諭<01697>旨<01881>所<0834>到<05060>(8688)的各<09002><03605><04082>省<04082>各處<04725>，猶大人<09001><03064>大大<01419>悲哀<060>，禁食<06685>哭泣<01065>哀號<04553>，穿麻衣<08242>躺<03331>(8714)在灰<0665>中的甚多<09001><07227>。
And in every province<04082>, whithersoever<04725> the king's<04428> commandment<01697> and his decree<01881> came<05060>(8688), there was great<01419> mourning<060> among the Jews<03064>, and fasting<06685>, and weeping<01065>, and wailing<04553>; and many<07227> lay<03331>(8714) in sackcloth<08242> and ashes<0665>. {many...: Heb. sackcloth and ashes were laid under many}
4:4 王后<04436>以斯帖<0635>的宮女<05291>和太監<05631>來<0935>(8799)把這事告訴<05046>(8686)以斯帖<09001>，她甚是<03966>憂愁<02342>(8698)，就送<07971>(8799)衣服<0899>給<0853>末底改<04782>穿<09001><03847>(8687)，要他<04480><05921>脫下<09001><05493>(8687)麻衣<08242>，他卻不<03808>受<06901>(8765)。
So Esther's<0635> maids<05291> and her chamberlains<05631> came<0935>(8799) and told<05046>(8686) it her. Then was the queen<04436> exceedingly<03966> grieved<02342>(8698); and she sent<07971>(8799) raiment<0899> to clothe<03847>(8687) Mordecai<04782>, and to take away<05493>(8687) his sackcloth<08242> from him: but he received<06901>(8765) it not. {chamberlains: Heb. eunuchs}
4:5 以斯帖<0635>就把王<04428>所<0834>派<05975>(8689)伺候她<09001><06440>的一個太監<04480><05631>，名叫哈他革<09001><02047>召<07121>(8799)來，吩咐他<06680>(8762)去見<05921>末底改<04782>，要知道<09001><03045>(8800)這<02088>是甚麼事<04100>，是<05921>甚麼<04100>緣故{<02088>}。
Then called<07121>(8799) Esther<0635> for Hatach<02047>, one of the king's<04428> chamberlains<05631>, whom he had appointed<05975>(8689) to attend<06440> upon her, and gave him a commandment<06680>(8762) to Mordecai<04782>, to know<03045>(8800) what it was , and why it was . {appointed...: Heb. set before her}
4:6 於是哈他革<02047>出<03318>(8799)到<0413>朝<04428>門<08179>前<09001><06440>的<0834>寬闊處<07339>{<05892>}見<0413>末底改<04782>。
So Hatach<02047> went forth<03318>(8799) to Mordecai<04782> unto the street<07339> of the city<05892>, which was before<06440> the king's<04428> gate<08179>.
4:7 末底改<04782>將<0853>自己所<0834>遇的事<07136>(8804)，並<0853>哈曼<02001>為滅絕<09001><06>(8763)猶大人<09002><03064>應許<0559>(8804)捐<09001><08254>(8800)入<05921>王<04428>庫<01595>的<0834>銀<03701>數<06575>都<03605>告訴<05046>(8686)了他<09001>；
And Mordecai<04782> told<05046>(8686) him of all that had happened<07136>(8804) unto him, and of the sum<06575> of the money<03701> that Haman<02001> had promised<0559>(8804) to pay<08254>(8800) to the king's<04428> treasuries<01595> for the Jews<03064>, to destroy<06>(8763) them.
4:8 又將<0853>所<0834>抄寫<06572><03791>傳遍<05414>(8738)書珊城<09002><07800>要滅絕<09001><08045>(8687)猶大人的旨意<01881>交<05414>(8804)給哈他革<09001>，要給<0853>以斯帖<0635>看<09001><07200>(8687)，又要給她<09001>說明<09001><05046>(8687)，並囑咐<09001><06680>(8763)她<05921>進去<09001><0935>(8800)見<0413>王<04428>，為<05921>本族的人<05971>在王面前<04480><09001><06440>懇切祈求<09001><01245>(8763){<09001>}{<02603>}{(8692)}{<09001>}。
Also he gave<05414>(8804) him the copy<06572> of the writing<03791> of the decree<01881> that was given<05414>(8738) at Shushan<07800> to destroy<08045>(8687) them, to shew<07200>(8687) it unto Esther<0635>, and to declare<05046>(8687) it unto her, and to charge<06680>(8763) her that she should go in<0935>(8800) unto the king<04428>, to make supplication<02603>(8692) unto him, and to make request<01245>(8763) before<06440> him for her people<05971>.
4:9 哈他革<02047>回來<0935>(8799)，將<0853>末底改<04782>的話<01697>告訴<05046>(8686)以斯帖<09001><0635>；
And Hatach<02047> came<0935>(8799) and told<05046>(8686) Esther<0635> the words<01697> of Mordecai<04782>.
4:10 以斯帖<0635>就吩咐<06680>(8762)哈他革<09001><02047>去見<0413>末底改<04782>，說<0559>(8799)：
Again Esther<0635> spake<0559>(8799) unto Hatach<02047>, and gave him commandment<06680>(8762) unto Mordecai<04782>;
4:11 「王<04428>的一切<03605>臣僕<05650>和各省<04082>{<04428>}的人民<05971>都知道<03045>(8802)有<0834>一個<0259>定例<01881>：若<0834>不<03808>蒙召<07121>(8735)，擅入<0935>(8799){<0413>}內<06442>院<02691>見<0413>王<04428>的<0834>，無論<03605>男<0376>女<0802>必被治死<09001><04191>(8687)；除<09001><0905>非<04480><0834>王<04428>向他<09001>伸出<03447>(8686){<0853>}金<02091>杖<08275>，不得存活<02421>(8804)。現在我<0589>沒有<03808>蒙召<07121>(8738)進去<09001><0935>(8800)見<0413>王<04428>已經<02088>三十<07970>日<03117>了。」
All the king's<04428> servants<05650>, and the people<05971> of the king's<04428> provinces<04082>, do know<03045>(8802), that whosoever, whether man<0376> or woman<0802>, shall come<0935>(8799) unto the king<04428> into the inner<06442> court<02691>, who is not called<07121>(8735), there is one<0259> law<01881> of his to put him to death<04191>(8687), except<0905> such to whom the king<04428> shall hold out<03447>(8686) the golden<02091> sceptre<08275>, that he may live<02421>(8804): but I have not been called<07121>(8738) to come in<0935>(8800) unto the king<04428> these thirty<07970> days<03117>.
4:12 人就把<0853>以斯帖<0635>這話<01697>告訴<05046>(8686)末底改<09001><04782>。
And they told<05046>(8686) to Mordecai<04782> Esther's<0635> words<01697>.
4:13 末底改<04782>託人<0559>(8799)回覆<09001><07725>(8687){<0413>}以斯帖<0635>說：「你<09002><05315>莫<0408>想<01819>(8762)在王<04428>宮<01004>裡強過一切<04480><03605>猶大人<03064>，得免<09001><04422>(8736)這禍。
Then Mordecai<04782> commanded<0559>(8799) to answer<07725>(8687) Esther<0635>, Think<01819>(8762) not with thyself<05315> that thou shalt escape<04422>(8736) in the king's<04428> house<01004>, more than all the Jews<03064>.
4:14 此<02063>時<09002><06256>你若<03588><0518>閉口不言<02790>(8687)<02790>(8686)，猶大人<09001><03064>必從別<0312>處<04480><04725>得<05975>(8799)解脫<07305>，蒙拯救<02020>；你<0859>和你父<01>家<01004>必致滅亡<06>(8799)。焉<04310>知<03045>(8802)你得了<05060>(8689)王后的位分<09001><04438>不是<0518>為現今<09003><02063>的機會<09001><06256>嗎？」
For if thou altogether<02790>(8687) holdest thy peace<02790>(8686) at this time<06256>, then shall there enlargement<07305> and deliverance<02020> arise<05975>(8799) to the Jews<03064> from another<0312> place<04725>; but thou and thy father's<01> house<01004> shall be destroyed<06>(8799): and who knoweth<03045>(8802) whether thou art come<05060>(8689) to the kingdom<04438> for such a time<06256> as this? {enlargement: Heb. respiration}
4:15 以斯帖<0635>就吩咐<0559>(8799)人回報<09001><07725>(8687){<0413>}末底改<04782>說：
Then Esther<0635> bade<0559>(8799) them return<07725>(8687) Mordecai<04782> this answer ,
4:16 「你當去<03212>(8798)招聚<03664>(8798){<0853>}書珊城<09002><07800>{<04672>}{(8737)}所有的<03605>猶大人<03064>，為我<05921>禁食<06684>(8798)三<07969>晝<03117>三夜<03915>{<03117>}，不<0408>吃<0398>(8799)不<0408>喝<08354>(8799)；我<0589>和我的宮女<05291>也<01571>要這樣<03651>禁食<06684>(8799)。然後<09002><03651>我{<0834>}違<03808>例<09003><01881>進去<0935>(8799)見<0413>王<04428>，我若<09003><0834>死<06>(8804)就死<06>(8804)吧！」
Go<03212>(8798), gather together<03664>(8798) all the Jews<03064> that are present<04672>(8737) in Shushan<07800>, and fast<06684>(8798) ye for me, and neither eat<0398>(8799) nor drink<08354>(8799) three<07969> days<03117>, night<03915> or day<03117>: I also and my maidens<05291> will fast<06684>(8799) likewise; and so<03651> will I go<0935>(8799) in unto the king<04428>, which is not according to the law<01881>: and if I perish<06>(8804), I perish<06>(8804). {present: Heb. found}
4:17 於是末底改<04782>照以斯帖<0635>一切<09003><03605>所<0834>吩咐<06680>(8765)的{<05921>}去<05674>(8799)行<06213>(8799)。
So Mordecai<04782> went his way<05674>(8799), and did<06213>(8799) according to all that Esther<0635> had commanded<06680>(8765) him. {went...: Heb. passed}
