Now it came to pass in the days<03117> of Ahasuerus<0325>, (this is Ahasuerus<0325> which reigned<04427>(8802), from India<01912> even unto Ethiopia<03568>, over an hundred<03967> and seven<07651> and twenty<06242> provinces<04082>:)
1:2 {<09002>}{<03117>}{<01992>}亞哈隨魯<0325>王<04428>在書珊<09002><07800>城的<0834>宮<01002>登基<04438>{<09003>}{<03427>}{(8800)}{<05921>}{<03678>}；
That in those days<03117>, when the king<04428> Ahasuerus<0325> sat<03427>(8800) on the throne<03678> of his kingdom<04438>, which was in Shushan<07800> the palace<01002>,
1:3 在位<09001><04427>(8800)第三<07969>年<09002><08141>，為他一切<09001><03605>首領<08269>臣僕<05650>設擺<06213>(8804)筵席<04960>，有波斯<06539>和米底亞<04074>的權貴<02428>，就是各省<04082>的貴冑<06579>與首領<08269>，在他面前<09001><06440>。
In the third<07969> year<08141> of his reign<04427>(8800), he made<06213>(8804) a feast<04960> unto all his princes<08269> and his servants<05650>; the power<02428> of Persia<06539> and Media<04074>, the nobles<06579> and princes<08269> of the provinces<04082>, being before<06440> him:
1:4 他把<0853>他榮耀<03519>之國<04438>的豐富<06239>和<0853>他美好<08597>威嚴<03366>的尊貴<01420>給他們看了<09002><07200>(8687)許多<07227>日<03117>，就是一百<03967>八十<08084>日<03117>。
When he shewed<07200>(8687) the riches<06239> of his glorious<03519> kingdom<04438> and the honour<03366> of his excellent<08597> majesty<01420> many<07227> days<03117>, even an hundred<03967> and fourscore<08084> days<03117>.
1:5 這<0428>日子<03117>滿了<09002><04390>(8800)，{<04428>}又為所有<09001><03605>住<04672>(8737)書珊<09002><07800>城<01002>的大<09001><04480><01419>{<05704>}小<06996>人民<05971>在御<04428>{<01055>}園<01594>的院子<09002><02691>裡設擺<06213>(8804)筵席<04960>七<07651>日<03117>。
And when these days<03117> were expired<04390>(8800), the king<04428> made<06213>(8804) a feast<04960> unto all the people<05971> that were present<04672>(8737) in Shushan<07800> the palace<01002>, both unto great<01419> and small<06996>, seven<07651> days<03117>, in the court<02691> of the garden<01594> of the king's<04428> palace<01055>; {present: Heb. found}
1:6 有白色<02353>、綠色<03768>、藍色<08504>的帳子，用細麻<0948>繩<09002><02256>、紫色<0713>繩從<05921>銀<03701>環<01550>內繫<0270>(8803)在白玉石<05982>柱<05982>上；有金<02091>銀<03701>的床榻<04296>擺在<05921>紅<0923>、白<01858>、黃、黑<05508>玉石<08336>的鋪石地<07531>上。
Where were white<02353>, green<03768>, and blue<08504>, hangings , fastened<0270>(8803) with cords<02256> of fine linen<0948> and purple<0713> to silver<03701> rings<01550> and pillars<05982> of marble<08336>: the beds<04296> were of gold<02091> and silver<03701>, upon a pavement<07531> of red<0923>, and blue<08504>, and white<01858>, and black<05508>, marble<08336>. {blue, hangings: or, violet, etc} {of red...: or, of porphyre, and marble and alabaster, and stone of blue colour}
1:7 用金<02091>器皿<09002><03627>賜酒<08248>(8687)，器皿<03627>各<04480><03627>有不同<08138>(8802)。御<04438>酒<03196>甚多<07227>，足顯王<04428>的厚意<09003><03027>。
And they gave them drink<08248>(8687) in vessels<03627> of gold<02091>, (the vessels<03627> being diverse<08138>(8802) one from another<03627>,) and royal<04438> wine<03196> in abundance<07227>, according to the state<03027> of the king<04428>. {royal...: Heb. wine of the kingdom} {state: Heb. hand}
1:8 喝酒<08360>有例<09003><01881>，不准<0369>勉強<0597>(8802)人，因<03588><03651>王<04428>吩咐<03245>(8765){<05921>}宮裡<01004>的一切<03605>臣宰<07227>，讓<09001><06213>(8800)人各<0376>隨己<0376>意<09003><07522>。
And the drinking<08360> was according to the law<01881>; none did compel<0597>(8802): for so the king<04428> had appointed<03245>(8765) to all the officers<07227> of his house<01004>, that they should do<06213>(8800) according to every man's<0376> pleasure<07522>.
1:9 王后<04436>瓦實提<02060>在亞哈隨魯<0325>王<09001><04428>的<0834>宮<01004>內{<04438>}也<01571>為婦女<0802>設擺<06213>(8804)筵席<04960>。
Also Vashti<02060> the queen<04436> made<06213>(8804) a feast<04960> for the women<0802> in the royal<04438> house<01004> which belonged to king<04428> Ahasuerus<0325>.
1:10 第七<07637>日<09002><03117>，亞哈隨魯<0325>王<04428>飲酒<09002><03196>，心<03820>中快樂<09003><02896>，就吩咐<0559>(8804)在<0853>他{<04428>}面前<06440>侍立<08334>(8764)的七個<07651>太監<05631>米戶幔<09001><04104>、比斯他<0968>、哈波拿<02726>、比革他<0903>、亞拔他<05>、西達<02242>、甲迦<03752>，
On the seventh<07637> day<03117>, when the heart<03820> of the king<04428> was merry<02896> with wine<03196>, he commanded<0559>(8804) Mehuman<04104>, Biztha<0968>, Harbona<02726>, Bigtha<0903>, and Abagtha<05>, Zethar<02242>, and Carcas<03752>, the seven<07651> chamberlains<05631> that served<08334>(8764) in the presence<06440> of Ahasuerus<0325> the king<04428>, {chamberlains: or, eunuchs}
1:11 請<0853>王后<04436>瓦實提<02060>頭戴王后<04438>的冠冕<09002><03804>到<09001><0935>(8687)王<04428>面前<09001><06440>，使各等臣<08269>民<05971>看<09001><07200>(8687){<0853>}她的美貌<03308>，因為<03588>她<01931>容貌<04758>甚美<02896>。
To bring<0935>(8687) Vashti<02060> the queen<04436> before<06440> the king<04428> with the crown<03804> royal<04438>, to shew<07200>(8687) the people<05971> and the princes<08269> her beauty<03308>: for she was fair<02896> to look on<04758>. {fair...: Heb. good of countenance}

And the next<07138> unto him was Carshena<03771>, Shethar<08369>, Admatha<0133>, Tarshish<08659>, Meres<04825>, Marsena<04826>, and Memucan<04462>, the seven<07651> princes<08269> of Persia<06539> and Media<04074>, which saw<07200>(8802) the king's<04428> face<06440>, and which sat<03427>(8802) the first<07223> in the kingdom<04438>;)
1:15 「王后<09002><04436>瓦實提<02060>{<05921>}不<03808>遵<06213>(8804){<0853>}太監<05631>所傳<09002><03027>的{<0325>}王<04428>命<03982>，照例<09003><01881>應當怎樣<04100>辦理<09001><06213>(8800)呢？」
What shall we do<06213>(8800) unto the queen<04436> Vashti<02060> according to law<01881>, because she hath not performed<06213>(8804) the commandment<03982> of the king<04428> Ahasuerus<0325> by<03027> the chamberlains<05631>? {What...: Heb. What to do}
1:16 米母干<04462>在王<04428>和眾首領<08269>面前<09001><06440>回答<0559>(8799)說：「王后<04436>瓦實提<02060>這事，不<03808>但<09001><0905>得罪<05753>(8804)王<04428>，並且<03588>有害於<0834>{<0325>}王<04428>各<09002><03605>省<04082>的{<05921>}{<03605>}臣<08269>{<05921>}{<03605>}民<05971>；
And Memucan<04462> answered<0559>(8799) before<06440> the king<04428> and the princes<08269>, Vashti<02060> the queen<04436> hath not done wrong<05753>(8804) to the king<04428> only, but also to all the princes<08269>, and to all the people<05971> that are in all the provinces<04082> of the king<04428> Ahasuerus<0325>.
1:17 因為<03588>王后<04436>這事<01697>必傳<03318>(8799)到<05921>眾<03605>婦人<0802>的耳中，說<09002><0559>(8800)：『亞哈隨魯<0325>王<04428>吩咐<0559>(8804){<0853>}王后<04436>瓦實提<02060>到<09001><0935>(8687)王面前<09001><06440>，她卻不<03808>來<0935>(8804)』，她們<09002><05869>就藐視<09001><0959>(8687)自己的丈夫<09002><01167>。
For this deed<01697> of the queen<04436> shall come abroad<03318>(8799) unto all women<0802>, so that they shall despise<0959>(8687) their husbands<01167> in their eyes<05869>, when it shall be reported<0559>(8800), The king<04428> Ahasuerus<0325> commanded<0559>(8804) Vashti<02060> the queen<04436> to be brought in<0935>(8687) before<06440> him, but she came<0935>(8804) not.
1:18 今<02008>日<03117>{<0559>}{(8799)}波斯<06539>和米底亞<04074>的眾夫人<08282>{<0834>}聽見<08085>(8804){<0853>}王后<04436>這事<01697>，必向<09001><03605>王<04428>的大臣<08269>照樣行；從此必大開<09003><01767>藐視<0963>和忿怒<07110>之端。
Likewise shall the ladies<08282> of Persia<06539> and Media<04074> say<0559>(8799) this day<03117> unto all the king's<04428> princes<08269>, which have heard<08085>(8804) of the deed<01697> of the queen<04436>. Thus shall there arise too much<01767> contempt<0963> and wrath<07110>.
1:19 {<05921>}王<04428>若<0518>以為美<02895>(8804)，就{<04480>}{<09001>}{<06440>}降<03318>(8799){<04438>}旨<01697>寫<03789>(8735)在波斯<06539>和米底亞<04074>人的例<09002><01881>中，永不<03808>更改<05674>(8799)，{<0834>}不准<03808>瓦實提<02060>再到<0935>(8799){<0325>}王<04428>面前<09001><06440>，{<04428>}將她王后的位分<04438>賜<05414>(8799)給比她還<04480>好<02896>的人<09001><07468>。
If it please<02895>(8804) the king<04428>, let there go<03318>(8799) a royal<04438> commandment<01697> from him<06440>, and let it be written<03789>(8735) among the laws<01881> of the Persians<06539> and the Medes<04074>, that it be not altered<05674>(8799), That Vashti<02060> come<0935>(8799) no more before<06440> king<04428> Ahasuerus<0325>; and let the king<04428> give<05414>(8799) her royal estate<04438> unto another<07468> that is better<02896> than she. {If it...: Heb. 1:20 {<04428>}所<0834>降<06213>(8799)的旨意<06599>傳遍<08085>(8738)通<09002><03605>國<04438>（國度<01931>本來<03588>廣大<07227>），所有的<03605>婦人<0802>，無論丈夫貴<09001><04480><01419>{<05704>}賤<06996>都必尊敬<05414>(8799)<03366>他<09001><01167>。」
And when the king's<04428> decree<06599> which he shall make<06213>(8799) shall be published<08085>(8738) throughout all his empire<04438>, (for it is great<07227>,) all the wives<0802> shall give<05414>(8799) to their husbands<01167> honour<03366>, both to great<01419> and small<06996>.
1:21 王<04428>和眾首領<08269>都以米母干<04462>的話<01697>為<09002><05869>美<03190>(8799)，王<04428>就照這話<09003><01697>去行<06213>(8799)，
And the saying<01697> pleased<03190>(8799)<05869> the king<04428> and the princes<08269>; and the king<04428> did<06213>(8799) according to the word<01697> of Memucan<04462>: {pleased...: Heb. was good in the eyes of the king}
