24:1 約阿施<03101>登基<09002><04427>(8800)的時候年<01121>七<07651>歲<08141>，在耶路撒冷<09002><03389>作王<04427>(8804)四十<0705>年<08141>。他母親<0517>名叫<08034>西比亞<06645>，是別是巴人<04480><0884>。
Joash<03101> was seven<07651> years<08141> old<01121> when he began to reign<04427>(8800), and he reigned<04427>(8804) forty<0705> years<08141> in Jerusalem<03389>. His mother's<0517> name<08034> also was Zibiah<06645> of Beersheba<0884>.
24:2 祭司<03548>耶何耶大<03077>在世的時候<03605><03117>，約阿施<03101>行<06213>(8799)耶和華<03068>眼中<09002><05869>看為正<03477>的事。
And Joash<03101> did<06213>(8799) that which was right<03477> in the sight<05869> of the LORD<03068> all the days<03117> of Jehoiada<03077> the priest<03548>.
24:3 耶何耶大<03077>為他<09001>娶了<05375>(8799)兩個<08147>妻<0802>，並且生<03205>(8686)兒<01121>養女<01323>。
And Jehoiada<03077> took<05375>(8799) for him two<08147> wives<0802>; and he begat<03205>(8686) sons<01121> and daughters<01323>.
24:4 {<01961>}此後<0310><03651>，約阿施<03101>有<01961><05973>意<03820>重修<09001><02318>(8763)耶和華<03068>的殿<01004>，
And it came to pass after<0310> this, that Joash<03101> was minded<03820> to repair<02318>(8763) the house<01004> of the LORD<03068>. {to repair: Heb. to renew}
24:5 便召聚<06908>(8799){<0853>}眾祭司<03548>和利未人<03881>，吩咐他們<09001>說<0559>(8799)：「你們要往猶大<03063>各城<09001><05892>去<03318>(8798)，使以色列<03478>眾人<04480><03605>捐納<06908>(8798)銀子<03701>，每<04480><01767><08141>年<09002><08141>可以修理<09001><02388>(8763){<0853>}你們神<0430>的殿<01004>；你們<0859>要急速<04116>(8762)辦理這事<09001><01697>。」只是利未人<03881>不<03808>急速<04116>(8765)辦理。
And he gathered together<06908>(8799) the priests<03548> and the Levites<03881>, and said<0559>(8799) to them, Go out<03318>(8798) unto the cities<05892> of Judah<03063>, and gather<06908>(8798) of all Israel<03478> money<03701> to repair<02388>(8763) the house<01004> of your God<0430> from<01767> year<08141> to year<08141>, and see that ye hasten<04116>(8762) the matter<01697>. Howbeit the Levites<03881> hastened<04116>(8765) it not.
24:6 王<04428>召了<07121>(8799)大<07218>祭司耶何耶大<09001><03077>來，對他<09001>說<0559>(8799)：「從前耶和華<03068>的僕人<05650>摩西<04872>，為法櫃<05715>的帳幕<09001><0168>與以色列<09001><03478>會眾<06951>所定的捐項<04864>，你為何<04069>不<03808>叫<01875>(8804){<05921>}利未人<03881>照這例從猶大<04480><03063>和耶路撒冷<04480><03389>帶來<09001><0935>(8687)作殿的費用<0853>呢？
And the king<04428> called<07121>(8799) for Jehoiada<03077> the chief<07218>, and said<0559>(8799) unto him, Why hast thou not required<01875>(8804) of the Levites<03881> to bring in<0935>(8687) out of Judah<03063> and out of Jerusalem<03389> the collection<04864>, according to the commandment of Moses<04872> the servant<05650> of the LORD<03068>, and of the congregation<06951> of Israel<03478>, for the tabernacle<0168> of witness<05715>?
24:7 （因為<03588>那惡<04849>婦亞他利雅<06271>的眾子<01121>曾拆毀<06555>(8804){<0853>}神<0430>的殿<01004>，又<01571>用耶和華<03068>殿<01004>中{<03605>}分別為聖的物<06944>供奉<06213>(8804)巴力<09001><01168>。）
For the sons<01121> of Athaliah<06271>, that wicked<04849> woman, had broken up<06555>(8804) the house<01004> of God<0430>; and also all the dedicated things<06944> of the house<01004> of the LORD<03068> did they bestow<06213>(8804) upon Baalim<01168>.
24:8 於是王<04428>下令<0559>(8799)，眾人做了<06213>(8799)一<0259>櫃<0727>，放<05414>(8799)在耶和華<03068>殿<01004>的門<09002><08179>外<02351>，
And at the king's<04428> commandment<0559>(8799) they made<06213>(8799) a<0259> chest<0727>, and set<05414>(8799) it without<02351> at the gate<08179> of the house<01004> of the LORD<03068>.
24:9 又通<05414>(8799)告<06963>猶大<09002><03063>和耶路撒冷<09002><03389>的百姓，要將神<0430>僕人<05650>摩西<04872>在曠野<09002><04057>所吩咐<05921>以色列人<03478>的捐項<04864>給耶和華<09001><03068>送來<09001><0935>(8687)。
And they made<05414>(8799) a proclamation<06963> through Judah<03063> and Jerusalem<03389>, to bring in<0935>(8687) to the LORD<03068> the collection<04864> that Moses<04872> the servant<05650> of God<0430> laid upon Israel<03478> in the wilderness<04057>. {a proclamation: Heb. a voice}
24:10 眾<03605>首領<08269>和百姓<05971>都<03605>歡歡喜喜地<08055>(8799)將銀子送來<0935>(8686)，投入<07993>(8686)櫃中<09001><0727>，直到<05704>捐完<09001><03615>(8763)。
And all the princes<08269> and all the people<05971> rejoiced<08055>(8799), and brought in<0935>(8686), and cast<07993>(8686) into the chest<0727>, until they had made an end<03615>(8763).
24:11 {<01961>}{<09002>}{<06256>}利未人<03881>{<09002>}{<03027>}見<09003><07200>(8800){<03588>}銀子<03701>多了<07227>，就把<0853>櫃<0727>抬<0935>(8686)到<0413>王<04428>所派的司事<06486>面前；王<04428>的書記<05608>(8802)和大<07218>祭司<03548>的屬員<06496>來<0935>(8804)將<0853>櫃<0727>{<05375>}{(8799)}倒空<06168>(8762)，仍放<07725>(8686)在<0413>原處<04725>。日<09001><03117>日<09002><03117>都是這樣<03541>{<06213>}{(8804)}，積蓄<0622>(8799)的銀子<03701>甚多<09001><07230>。
Now it came to pass, that at what time<06256> the chest<0727> was brought<0935>(8686) unto the king's<04428> office<06486> by the hand<03027> of the Levites<03881>, and when they saw<07200>(8800) that there was much<07227> money<03701>, the king's<04428> scribe<05608>(8802) and the high<07218> priest's<03548> officer<06496> came<0935>(8804) and emptied<06168>(8762) the chest<0727>, and took<05375>(8799) it, and carried<07725><00> it to his place<04725> again<07725>(8686). Thus they did<06213>(8804) day<03117> by day<03117>, and gathered<0622>(8799) money<03701> in abundance<07230>.
24:12 王<04428>與耶何耶大<03077>將銀子交<05414>(8799)給<0413>耶和華<03068>殿<01004>裡辦<06213>(8802)事<04399>的人{<05656>}，{<01961>}他們就雇了<07936>(8802)石匠<02672>(8802)、木匠<02796>重修<09001><02318>(8763)耶和華<03068>的殿<01004>，又<01571>雇了鐵<01270>匠<09001><02796>、銅<05178>匠修理<09001><02388>(8763){<0853>}耶和華<03068>的殿<01004>。
And the king<04428> and Jehoiada<03077> gave<05414>(8799) it to such as did<06213>(8802) the work<04399> of the service<05656> of the house<01004> of the LORD<03068>, and hired<07936>(8802) masons<02672>(8802) and carpenters<02796> to repair<02318>(8763) the house<01004> of the LORD<03068>, and also such as wrought<02796> iron<01270> and brass<05178> to mend<02388>(8763) the house<01004> of the LORD<03068>.
24:13 工人<04399><06213>(8802)操作<06213>(8799)，{<04399>}漸漸<09001><05927>(8799)修成<0724>{<09002>}{<03027>}，將<0853>神<0430>殿<01004>修造得<05975>(8686)與從前<05921>一樣{<04971>}，而且甚是堅固<0553>(8762)。
So the workmen<04399><06213>(8802) wrought<06213>(8799), and the work<04399> was<05927>(8799) perfected<0724> by them<03027>, and they set<05975>(8686) the house<01004> of God<0430> in his state<04971>, and strengthened<0553>(8762) it. {the work...: Heb. the healing went up upon the work}
24:14 工程完了<09003><03615>(8763)，他們就把<0853>其餘的<07605>銀子<03701>拿到<0935>(8689)王<04428>與耶何耶大<03077>面前<09001><06440>，用以製造<06213>(8799)耶和華<03068>殿<09001><01004>{<03627>}供奉<05927>(8687)所用<08335>的器皿<03627>和調羹<03709>，並金<02091>銀<03701>的器皿<03627>。{<01961>}耶何耶大<03077>在世的時候<03605><03117>，眾人常<08548>在耶和華<03068>殿<09002><01004>裡獻<05927>(8688)燔祭<05930>。
And when they had finished<03615>(8763) it , they brought<0935>(8689) the rest<07605> of the money<03701> before<06440> the king<04428> and Jehoiada<03077>, whereof were made<06213>(8799) vessels<03627> for the house<01004> of the LORD<03068>, even vessels<03627> to minister<08335>, and to offer<05927>(8687) withal , and spoons<03709>, and vessels<03627> of gold<02091> and silver<03701>. And they offered<05927>(8688) burnt offerings<05930> in the house<01004> of the LORD<03068> continually<08548> all the days<03117> of Jehoiada<03077>. {to offer...: or, pestils}
24:15 耶何耶大<03077>年紀老邁<02204>(8799)，日子<03117>滿足<07646>(8799)而死<04191>(8799)。死<09002><04194>的時候年<01121>一百<03967>三十<07970>歲<08141>，
But Jehoiada<03077> waxed old<02204>(8799), and was full<07646>(8799) of days<03117> when he died<04191>(8799); an hundred<03967> and thirty<07970> years<08141> old<01121> was he when he died<04194>.
24:16 葬<06912>(8799)在大衛<01732>城<09002><05892>{<05973>}列王<04428>的墳墓裡；因為<03588>他在以色列<09002><03478>人中行<06213>(8804)善<02896>，又事奉<05973>神<0430>，修理神的殿<01004>。
And they buried<06912>(8799) him in the city<05892> of David<01732> among the kings<04428>, because he had done<06213>(8804) good<02896> in Israel<03478>, both toward God<0430>, and toward his house<01004>.
24:17 耶何耶大<03077>死<04194>後<0310>，猶大<03063>的眾首領<08269>來<0935>(8804)朝拜<07812>(8691)王<09001><04428>；王<04428>就<0227>聽從<08085>(8804)他們<0413>。
Now after<0310> the death<04194> of Jehoiada<03077> came<0935>(8804) the princes<08269> of Judah<03063>, and made obeisance<07812>(8691) to the king<04428>. Then the king<04428> hearkened<08085>(8804) unto them.
24:18 他們離棄<05800>(8799){<0853>}耶和華<03068>─他們列祖<01>神<0430>的殿<01004>，去事奉<05647>(8799){<0853>}亞舍拉<0842>和<0853>偶像<06091>；因他們這<02063>罪<09002><0819>，就有忿怒<07110>臨<01961>到<05921>猶大<03063>和耶路撒冷<03389>。
And they left<05800>(8799) the house<01004> of the LORD<03068> God<0430> of their fathers<01>, and served<05647>(8799) groves<0842> and idols<06091>: and wrath<07110> came upon Judah<03063> and Jerusalem<03389> for this their trespass<0819>.
24:19 但神仍遣<07971>(8799)先知<05030>到他們那裡<09002>，引導他們歸<09001><07725>(8687)向<0413>耶和華<03068>。這先知警戒<05749>(8686)他們<09002>，他們卻不肯<03808>聽<0238>(8689)。
Yet he sent<07971>(8799) prophets<05030> to them, to bring them again<07725>(8687) unto the LORD<03068>; and they testified<05749>(8686) against them: but they would not give ear<0238>(8689).
24:20 那時，神<0430>的靈<07307>感動<03847>(8804){<0853>}祭司<03548>耶何耶大<03077>的兒子<01121>撒迦利亞<02148>，他就站<05975>(8799)在上面<04480><05921>對民<09001><05971>說<0559>(8799){<09001>}：「神<0430>如此<03541>說<0559>(8804)：你們<0859>為何<09001><04100>干犯<05674>(8802){<0853>}耶和華<03068>的誡命<04687>，以致不<03808>得亨通<06743>(8686)呢？因為<03588>你們離棄<05800>(8804){<0853>}耶和華<03068>，所以他也離棄<05800>(8799)你們<0853>。」
And the Spirit<07307> of God<0430> came<03847>(8804) upon Zechariah<02148> the son<01121> of Jehoiada<03077> the priest<03548>, which stood<05975>(8799) above the people<05971>, and said<0559>(8799) unto them, Thus saith<0559>(8804) God<0430>, Why transgress<05674>(8802) ye the commandments<04687> of the LORD<03068>, that ye cannot prosper<06743>(8686)? because ye have forsaken<05800>(8804) the LORD<03068>, he hath also forsaken<05800>(8799) you. {came...: Heb. clothed}
24:21 眾民同心謀害<07194>(8799)撒迦利亞<05921>，就照王<04428>的吩咐<09002><04687>，在耶和華<03068>殿<01004>的院<09002><02691>內用石頭<068>打死他<07275>(8799)。
And they conspired<07194>(8799) against him, and stoned<07275>(8799) him with stones<068> at the commandment<04687> of the king<04428> in the court<02691> of the house<01004> of the LORD<03068>.
24:22 這樣，約阿施<03101>王<04428>不<03808>想念<02142>(8804)撒迦利亞的父親<01>耶何耶大<03077>向自己<05973>所<0834>施<06213>(8804)的恩<02617>，殺了<02026>(8799){<0853>}他的兒子<01121>。撒迦利亞臨死<09003><04194>的時候說<0559>(8804)：「願耶和華<03068>鑒察<07200>(8799)伸冤<01875>(8799)！」
Thus Joash<03101> the king<04428> remembered<02142>(8804) not the kindness<02617> which Jehoiada<03077> his father<01> had done<06213>(8804) to him, but slew<02026>(8799) his son<01121>. And when he died<04194>, he said<0559>(8804), The LORD<03068> look<07200>(8799) upon it , and require<01875>(8799) it .
24:23 {<01961>}滿了<09001><08622>一年<08141>，亞蘭<0758>的軍兵<02428>上來<05927>(8804)攻擊<05921>約阿施，來<0935>(8799)到<0413>猶大<03063>和耶路撒冷<03389>，殺了<07843>(8686){<0853>}民<04480><05971>中的{<05971>}眾<03605>首領<08269>，將所{<03605>}掠的財貨<07998>送到<07971>(8765)大馬士革<01834>王<09001><04428>那裡。

24:24 亞蘭<0758>的軍<02428>兵<0582>雖<03588>來了<0935>(8804)一小隊<09002><04705>，耶和華<03068>卻將大隊的<03966><09001><07230>軍兵<02428>交<05414>(8804)在他們手裡<09002><03027>，是因<03588>猶大人離棄<05800>(8804){<0853>}耶和華<03068>─他們列祖<01>的神<0430>，所以藉亞蘭人懲罰<06213>(8804)<08201>{<0853>}約阿施<03101>。
For the army<02428> of the Syrians<0758> came<0935>(8804) with a small<04705> company of men<0582>, and the LORD<03068> delivered<05414>(8804) a very<03966> great<07230> host<02428> into their hand<03027>, because they had forsaken<05800>(8804) the LORD<03068> God<0430> of their fathers<01>. So they executed<06213>(8804) judgment<08201> against Joash<03101>.

24:26 背叛<07194>(8693)他<05921>的是<0428>亞捫婦人<05985>示米押<08100>的兒子<01121>撒拔<02066>和摩押婦人<04125>示米利<08116>的兒子<01121>約薩拔<03075>。
