19:1 {<01961>}此<03651>後<0310>，亞捫<05983>人<01121>的王<04428>拿轄<05176>死了<04191>(8799)，他兒子<01121>接續他<08478>作王<04427>(8799)。
Now it came to pass after this<0310>, that Nahash<05176> the king<04428> of the children<01121> of Ammon<05983> died<04191>(8799), and his son<01121> reigned<04427>(8799) in his stead.
19:2 大衛<01732>說<0559>(8799)：「我要照<03588>哈嫩的父親<01>拿轄<05176>厚待<06213>(8804)我<05973>的恩典<02617>厚<02617>待<06213>(8799){<05973>}哈嫩<02586>{<05176>}{<01121>}。」於是大衛<01732>差遣<07971>(8799)使者<04397>為<05921>他喪父<01>安慰他<09001><05162>(8763)。大衛<01732>的臣僕<05650>到了<0935>(8799){<0413>}亞捫<05983>人<01121>的境內<0776>見<0413>哈嫩<02586>，要安慰他<09001><05162>(8763)，
And David<01732> said<0559>(8799), I will shew<06213>(8799) kindness<02617> unto Hanun<02586> the son<01121> of Nahash<05176>, because his father<01> shewed<06213>(8804) kindness<02617> to me. And David<01732> sent<07971>(8799) messengers<04397> to comfort<05162>(8763) him concerning his father<01>. So the servants<05650> of David<01732> came<0935>(8799) into the land<0776> of the children<01121> of Ammon<05983> to Hanun<02586>, to comfort<05162>(8763) him.
19:3 但亞捫<05983>人<01121>的首領<08269>對哈嫩<09001><02586>說<0559>(8799)：「{<03588>}大衛<01732>差人<07971>(8804)來安慰<05162>(8764)你<09001>，你想<09002><05869>他是尊敬<03513>(8764){<0853>}你父親<01>嗎？他的臣僕<05650>來<0935>(8804)見你<0413>不是<03808>為<09002><05668>詳察<09001><02713>(8800)窺探<09001><07270>(8763)、傾覆<09001><02015>(8800)這地<0776>嗎？」
But the princes<08269> of the children<01121> of Ammon<05983> said<0559>(8799) to Hanun<02586>, Thinkest<05869> thou that David<01732> doth honour<03513>(8764) thy father<01>, that he hath sent<07971>(8804) comforters<05162>(8764) unto thee? are not his servants<05650> come<0935>(8804) unto thee for to search<02713>(8800), and to overthrow<02015>(8800), and to spy out<07270>(8763) the land<0776>? {Thinkest...: Heb. In thine eyes doth David, etc}
19:4 哈嫩<02586>便將<03947>(8799){<0853>}大衛<01732>臣僕<05650>的鬍鬚剃<01548>(8762)去一半，又割斷<03772>(8799){<0853>}他們下半<09002><02677>截的衣服<04063>，使他們露出<05704>下體<04667>，打發他們<07971>(8762)回去<03212>(8799)。
Wherefore Hanun<02586> took<03947>(8799) David's<01732> servants<05650>, and shaved<01548>(8762) them, and cut off<03772>(8799) their garments<04063> in the midst<02677> hard by their buttocks<04667>, and sent them away<07971>(8762).
19:5 有人將臣僕<0582>所遇<05921>的事告訴<05046>(8686)大衛<09001><01732>，他就差人<07971>(8799)去迎接他們<09001><07125>(8800)，因為<03588>{<01961>}他們<0582>甚<03966>覺羞恥<03637>(8737)；{<04428>}告訴<0559>(8799)他們說：「可以住<03427>(8798)在耶利哥<09002><03405>，等到<05704>{<0834>}鬍鬚<02206>長起<06779>(8762)再回來<07725>(8804)。」
Then there went<03212>(8799) certain , and told<05046>(8686) David<01732> how the men<0582> were served. And he sent<07971>(8799) to meet<07125>(8800) them: for the men<0582> were greatly<03966> ashamed<03637>(8737). And the king<04428> said<0559>(8799), Tarry<03427>(8798) at Jericho<03405> until your beards<02206> be grown<06779>(8762), and then return<07725>(8804).
19:6 亞捫<05983>人<01121>知道<07200>(8799){<03588>}{<05973>}大衛<01732>憎惡他們<0887>(8694)，哈嫩<02586>和亞捫<05983>人<01121>就打發<07971>(8799)人拿一千<0505>他連得<03603>銀子<03701>，從<04480>美索不達米亞<0763>、{<04480>}亞蘭瑪迦<0758><04601>、{<04480>}瑣巴<06678>雇<09001><07936>(8800){<09001>}戰車<07393>和馬兵<06571>，
And when the children<01121> of Ammon<05983> saw<07200>(8799) that they had made themselves odious<0887>(8694) to David<01732>, Hanun<02586> and the children<01121> of Ammon<05983> sent<07971>(8799) a thousand<0505> talents<03603> of silver<03701> to hire<07936>(8800) them chariots<07393> and horsemen<06571> out of Mesopotamia<0763>, and out of Syriamaachah<0758><04601>, and out of Zobah<06678>. {odious: Heb. to stink}
19:7 於是雇了<07936>(8799){<09001>}三萬二千<07970><08147><0505>輛戰車<07393>和<0853>瑪迦<04601>王<04428>並<0853>他的軍兵<05971>；他們來<0935>(8799)安營<02583>(8799)在米底巴<04311>前<09001><06440>。亞捫<05983>人<01121>也從他們的城<04480><05892>裡出來<0935>(8799)，聚集<0622>(8738)交戰<09001><04421>。
So they hired<07936>(8799) thirty<07970> and two<08147> thousand<0505> chariots<07393>, and the king<04428> of Maachah<04601> and his people<05971>; who came<0935>(8799) and pitched<02583>(8799) before<06440> Medeba<04311>. And the children<01121> of Ammon<05983> gathered themselves together<0622>(8738) from their cities<05892>, and came<0935>(8799) to battle<04421>.
19:8 大衛<01732>聽見了<08085>(8799)，就差派<07971>(8799){<0853>}約押<03097>統帶<0853>勇猛<01368>的全<03605>軍<06635>出去。
And when David<01732> heard<08085>(8799) of it , he sent<07971>(8799) Joab<03097>, and all the host<06635> of the mighty men<01368>.
19:9 亞捫<05983>人<01121>出來<03318>(8799)在城<05892>門<06607>前擺<06186>(8799)陣<04421>，所<0834>來<0935>(8804)的諸王<04428>另<09001><0905>在郊野<09002><07704>擺陣。
And the children<01121> of Ammon<05983> came out<03318>(8799), and put the battle<04421> in array<06186>(8799) before the gate<06607> of the city<05892>: and the kings<04428> that were come<0935>(8804) were by themselves in the field<07704>.
19:10 約押<03097>看見<07200>(8799){<03588>}敵人在<01961>他<0413>前<06440>後<0268>擺陣<06440><04421>，就從<04480><03605>以色列<09002><03478>軍中挑選<0977>(8799)精兵<0977>(8803)，使他們對著<09001><07125>(8800)亞蘭人<0758>擺陣<06186>(8799)；
Now when Joab<03097> saw<07200>(8799) that the battle<04421> was set against him before<06440> and behind<0268>, he chose out<0977>(8799) of all the choice<0977>(8803) of Israel<03478>, and put them in array<06186>(8799) against<07125>(8800) the Syrians<0758>. {the battle...: Heb. the face of the battle was} {choice: or, young men}
19:11 {<0853>}其餘的<03499>兵<05971>交<05414>(8804)與<09002><03027>他兄弟<0251>亞比篩<052>，對著<09001><07125>(8800)亞捫<05983>人<01121>擺陣<06186>(8799)。
And the rest<03499> of the people<05971> he delivered<05414>(8804) unto the hand<03027> of Abishai<052> his brother<0251>, and they set themselves in array<06186>(8799) against<07125>(8800) the children<01121> of Ammon<05983>. {Abishai: Heb. Abshai}
19:12 約押對亞比篩說<0559>(8799)：「亞蘭人<0758>若<0518>強<02388>(8799)過我<04480>，你就<01961>來幫助<09001><08668>我<09001>；亞捫<05983>人<01121>若<0518>強<02388>(8799)過你<04480>，我就去幫助你<03467>(8689)。
And he said<0559>(8799), If the Syrians<0758> be too strong<02388>(8799) for me, then thou shalt help<08668> me: but if the children<01121> of Ammon<05983> be too strong<02388>(8799) for thee, then I will help<03467>(8689) thee.
19:13 我們都當剛強<02388>(8798)，為<01157>本國的民<05971>和<01157>神<0430>的城邑<05892>作大丈夫<02388>(8691)，願耶和華<03068>憑他的<09002><05869>意旨<02896>而行<06213>(8799)。」
Be of good courage<02388>(8798), and let us behave ourselves valiantly<02388>(8691) for our people<05971>, and for the cities<05892> of our God<0430>: and let the LORD<03068> do<06213>(8799) that which is good<02896> in his sight<05869>.
19:14 於是約押<03097>和<0834>跟隨他<05973>的人<05971>前進<05066>(8799)攻打<09001><04421>{<09001>}{<06440>}亞蘭人<0758>；亞蘭人在約押面前<04480><06440>逃跑<05127>(8799)。
So Joab<03097> and the people<05971> that were with him drew nigh<05066>(8799) before<06440> the Syrians<0758> unto the battle<04421>; and they fled<05127>(8799) before<06440> him.
19:15 亞捫<05983>人<01121>見<07200>(8804){<03588>}亞蘭人<0758>逃跑<05127>(8804)，他們<01992>也<01571>在約押的兄弟<0251>亞比篩<052>面前<04480><06440>逃跑<05127>(8799)進<0935>(8799)城<05892>。約押<03097>就回<0935>(8799)耶路撒冷<03389>去了。
And when the children<01121> of Ammon<05983> saw<07200>(8804) that the Syrians<0758> were fled<05127>(8804), they likewise fled<05127>(8799) before<06440> Abishai<052> his brother<0251>, and entered<0935>(8799) into the city<05892>. Then Joab<03097> came<0935>(8799) to Jerusalem<03389>.
19:16 亞蘭人<0758>見<07200>(8799){<03588>}自己被<09001><06440>以色列人<03478>打敗<05062>(8738)，就打發<07971>(8799)使者<04397>將<0853>大河<05104>那邊<04480><05676>的<0834>亞蘭人<0758>調來<03318>(8686)，哈大利謝<01928>的{<06635>}將軍<08269>朔法<07780>率領他們<09001><06440>。
And when the Syrians<0758> saw<07200>(8799) that they were put to the worse<05062>(8738) before<06440> Israel<03478>, they sent<07971>(8799) messengers<04397>, and drew forth<03318>(8686) the Syrians<0758> that were beyond<05676> the river<05104>: and Shophach<07780> the captain<08269> of the host<06635> of Hadarezer<01928> went before<06440> them. {river: that is, Euphrates} {Shophach: also called, Shobach}
19:17 有人告訴<05046>(8714)大衛<09001><01732>，他就聚集<0622>(8799){<0853>}以色列<03478>眾人<03605>過<05674>(8799)約旦河<03383>，來<0935>(8799)到亞蘭人那裡<0413>，迎著他們<0413>擺陣<06186>(8799)。大衛<01732>既擺<06186>(8799)陣<04421>攻擊<09001><07125>(8800)亞蘭人<0758>，亞蘭人就與他<05973>打仗<03898>(8735)。
And it was told<05046>(8714) David<01732>; and he gathered<0622>(8799) all Israel<03478>, and passed over<05674>(8799) Jordan<03383>, and came<0935>(8799) upon them, and set the battle in array<06186>(8799) against them. So when David<01732> had put the battle<04421> in array<06186>(8799) against<07125>(8800) the Syrians<0758>, they fought<03898>(8735) with him.
19:18 亞蘭人<0758>在以色列<03478>人面前<04480><09001><06440>逃跑<05127>(8799)。大衛<01732>殺了<02026>(8799)亞蘭<04480><0758>七<07651>千<0505>輛戰車<07393>的人，四萬<0705><0505>步<07273>兵<0376>，又殺了<04191>(8689){<0853>}亞蘭<06635>的將軍<08269>朔法<07780>。
But the Syrians<0758> fled<05127>(8799) before<06440> Israel<03478>; and David<01732> slew<02026>(8799) of the Syrians<0758> seven<07651> thousand<0505> men which fought in chariots<07393>, and forty<0705> thousand<0505> footmen<0376><07273>, and killed<04191>(8689) Shophach<07780> the captain<08269> of the host<06635>.
19:19 屬哈大利謝<01928>的諸王<05650>見<07200>(8799){<03588>}自己被<09001><06440>以色列<03478>人打敗<05062>(8738)，就與<05973>大衛<01732>和好<07999>(8686)，歸服他<05647>(8799)。於是亞蘭人<0758>不<03808>敢<014>(8804)再<05750>幫助<09001><03467>(8687){<0853>}亞捫<05983>人<01121>了。
And when the servants<05650> of Hadarezer<01928> saw<07200>(8799) that they were put to the worse<05062>(8738) before<06440> Israel<03478>, they made peace<07999>(8686) with David<01732>, and became his servants<05647>(8799): neither would<014>(8804) the Syrians<0758> help<03467>(8687) the children<01121> of Ammon<05983> any more.
