I said<0559>(8804) in mine heart<03820>, Go to now<03212>(8798), I will prove<05254>(8762) thee with mirth<08057>, therefore enjoy<07200>(8798) pleasure<02896>: and, behold, this also is vanity<01892>.
2:2 我指嬉笑<09001><07814>说<0559>(8804)：「这是狂妄<01984>(8781)。」论喜乐<09001><08057>说：「{<02090>}有何<04100>功效<06213>(8802)呢？」
I said<0559>(8804) of laughter<07814>, It is mad<01984>(8781): and of mirth<08057>, What<02090> doeth<06213>(8802) it?

I made me great<01431>(8689) works<04639>; I builded<01129>(8804) me houses<01004>; I planted<05193>(8804) me vineyards<03754>:
2:5 修造<06213>(8804){<09001>}园<01593>囿<06508>，在其中<09002>栽种<05193>(8804)各样<03605>果<06529>木树<06086>；
I made<06213>(8804) me gardens<01593> and orchards<06508>, and I planted<05193>(8804) trees<06086> in them of all kind of fruits<06529>:
2:6 挖造<06213>(8804){<09001>}水<04325>池<01295>，用<04480>以浇灌<09001><08248>(8687)嫩小的<06779>(8802)树木<03293><06086>。
I made<06213>(8804) me pools<01295> of water<04325>, to water<08248>(8687) therewith the wood<03293> that bringeth forth<06779>(8802) trees<06086>:
2:7 我买了<07069>(8804)仆<05650>婢<08198>，也有<01961>{<09001>}生<01121>在家中<01004>的仆婢；又<01571>有<01961>{<09001>}许多<07235>(8687)牛<01241>群<04735>羊群<06629>，胜过以前<09001><06440>在耶路撒冷<09002><03389>众人<04480><03605>所有的<07945><01961>。

So I was great<01431>(8804), and increased<03254>(8689) more than all that were before<06440> me in Jerusalem<03389>: also my wisdom<02451> remained<05975>(8804) with me.

Then I looked<06437>(8804) on all the works<04639> that my hands<03027> had wrought<06213>(8804), and on the labour<05999> that I had laboured<05998>(8804) to do<06213>(8800): and, behold, all was vanity<01892> and vexation<07469> of spirit<07307>, and there was no profit<03504> under the sun<08121>.

2:13 我<0589>便看出<07200>(8804){<07945>}{<03426>}智慧<09001><02451>胜过<03504>{<04480>}愚昧<05531>，如同<09003><03504>光明<0216>胜过<04480>黑暗<02822>。

2:14 智慧人<02450>的眼目<05869>光明（光明：原文是在他头上<09002><07218>），愚昧人<03684>在黑暗里<09002><02822>行<01980>(8802)。我<0589>却<01571>看明<03045>(8804)有一件<0259>事<07945><04745>，这两等人{<0853>}都<03605>必遇见<07136>(8799)。
The wise man's<02450> eyes<05869> are in his head<07218>; but the fool<03684> walketh<01980>(8802) in darkness<02822>: and I myself perceived<03045>(8804) also that one<0259> event<04745> happeneth<07136>(8799) to them all.
2:15 我<0589>就心里<09002><03820>说<0559>(8804)：「愚昧人<03684>所遇见的<09003><04745>，我<0589>也<01571>必遇见<07136>(8799)，{<0227>}我<0589>为何<09001><04100>更有<03148>智慧<02449>(8804)呢？」我心里<09002><03820>说<01696>(8765)，这<02088>也是<07945><01571>虚空<01892>。
Then<0227> said<0559>(8804) I in my heart<03820>, As it happeneth<04745> to the fool<03684>, so it happeneth<07136>(8799) even to me<01571>; and why was I then more<03148> wise<02449>(8804)? 2:16 智慧人<09001><02450>和<05973>愚昧人<03684>一样{<09002>}{<07945>}{<03528>}，永远<09001><05769>无人<0369>记念<02146>，因为<03588>日<03117>后<0935>(8802)都<03605>被忘记<07911>(8738)；可叹<0349>智慧人<02450>死亡<04191>(8799)，与<05973>愚昧人<03684>无异。
For there is no remembrance<02146> of the wise<02450> more than<05973> of the fool<03684> for ever<05769>; seeing that which now<03528> is in the days<03117> to come<0935>(8802) shall all be forgotten<07911>(8738). And how dieth<04191>(8799) the wise<02450> man ? as the fool<03684>.
2:17 我所以恨恶<08130>(8804){<0853>}生命<02416>；因为<03588>在日光<08121>之下<08478>所行<07945><06213>(8738)的事<04639>我都以为<05921>烦恼<07451>，{<03588>}都<03605>是虚空<01892>，都是捕<07469>风<07307>。
Therefore I hated<08130>(8804) life<02416>; because the work<04639> that is wrought<06213>(8738) under the sun<08121> is grievous<07451> unto me: for all is vanity<01892> and vexation<07469> of spirit<07307>.
2:18 我<0589>恨恶<08130>(8804){<0853>}一切的<03605>劳碌<05999>，就是我<07945><0589>在日光<08121>之下<08478>的劳碌<06001>，因为我得来的必留给<07945><05117>(8686)我以后<0310>的{<07945>}{<01961>}人<09001><0120>。
Yea, I hated<08130>(8804) all my labour<05999> which I had taken<06001> under the sun<08121>: because I should leave<03240>(8686) it unto the man<0120> that shall be after<0310> me. {taken: Heb. laboured}
2:19 那人是<01961>智慧<02450>是<0176>愚昧<05530>，谁<04310>能知道<03045>(8802)？他竟要管理<07980>(8799){<09002>}{<03605>}我劳碌<07945><05998>(8804)所得的<05999>，就是我在日光<08121>之下<08478>用智慧所得的<07945><02449>(8804)。这<02088>也<01571>是虚空<01892>。
And who knoweth<03045>(8802) whether he shall be a wise<02450> man or a fool<05530>? yet shall he have rule<07980>(8799) over all my labour<05999> wherein I have laboured<05998>(8804), and wherein I have shewed myself wise<02449>(8804) under the sun<08121>. This is also vanity<01892>.
2:20 故此，我<0589>转<05437>(8804)想{<05921>}我在日光<08121>之下<08478>所劳碌<07945><05998>(8804)的一切<03605>工作<05999>，{<0853>}心<03820>便绝望<09001><02976>(8763)。
Therefore I went about<05437>(8804) to cause<02976><00> my heart<03820> to despair<02976>(8763) of all the labour<05999> which I took<05998>(8804) under the sun<08121>.
2:21 因为<03588>有<03426>人<0120>用智慧<09002><02451>、知识<09002><01847>、灵巧<09002><03788>所劳碌<07945><05999>得来的，却要留给<05414>(8799)未<07945><03808>曾劳碌<05998>(8804){<09002>}的人<09001><0120>为分<02506>。这<02088>也<01571>是虚空<01892>，也是大<07227>患<07451>。
For there is<03426> a man<0120> whose labour<05999> is in wisdom<02451>, and in knowledge<01847>, and in equity<03788>; yet to a man<0120> that hath not laboured<05998>(8804) therein shall he leave<05414>(8799) it for his portion<02506>. For what hath<01933>(8802) man<0120> of all his labour<05999>, and of the vexation<07475> of his heart<03820>, wherein<01931> he hath laboured<06001> under the sun<08121>?
2:23 因为<03588>他日日<03605><03117>忧虑<04341>，他的劳苦<06045>成为愁烦<03708>，连<01571>夜间<09002><03915>心<03820>也不<03808>安<07901>(8804)。这<02088>也<01571>是<01931>虚空<01892>。
For all his days<03117> are sorrows<04341>, and his travail<06045> grief<03708>; yea, his heart<03820> taketh not rest<07901>(8804) in the night<03915>. This is also vanity<01892>.
2:24 人<09002><0120>莫<0369>强如<02896>吃<07945><0398>(8799)喝<08354>(8804)，且{<0853>}{<05315>}在劳碌中<09002><05999>享<07200>(8689)福<02896>，我<0589>看<07200>(8804){<03588>}这<02090>也<01571>是<01931>出于　神<0430>的手<04480><03027>。
There is nothing better<02896> for a man<0120>, than that he should eat<0398>(8799) and drink<08354>(8804), and that he should make his soul<05315> enjoy<07200>(8689) good<02896> in his labour<05999>.
